Experience with flat tire in no signal zone.

And if you are stuck in the middle of no-where with a flat that can't be repaired with a patch or a string, you can put a tube in your tire and go back home. I'm sure many will say that it is not recommended, or did not even think it was possible but many adventure bikes have flat fixed with a...

Might have a headlight problem.....I think!

You probably already know that but the S10 does not have high / low beams. The H7 is high beam constantly and there is a flap cutting light when on low (BTW, when this flap fails, it costs a fortune). I believe the flap does have springs to keep it in low beam position and an electric motor to...

Experience with flat tire in no signal zone.

Co2 would probably work to push the beads in your situation (I always carry some with me). You can do Co2 + the rope (or even better, strap + ratchet). To inflate a tire, it takes 2 to 3 Co2 cartridges, but you can use one to push the beads back and then use your compressor. A portable...

HEADS UP again... "keep your eyes open" LEAK ISSUE

Thank you for the heads-up. Since the XTZ1200 does have an oil level light, the risk for the engine are very limited (light would turn on before any damage). Unfortunately, Yamaha did not put a low oil pressure alarm of any type, IIRC.

    Feeler gauges

I agree. And I have the same approach for torque wrench. Not that precision is as critical as feeler gauge, but to avoid mistakes or bad conversion (that you find also in Clymer and Haynes BTW).

    Disc lock won't open....aaaargh!!

If you can't unlock it (usually, the more you try, the worse it is...), I would remore it with a grinder. If you stop before going thru the U shape block, you should be able to finish it with a srew driver, without damaging the disc. You can try a Dremel also but I would try with a grinder first.

Hello Canadian Tenere, Welcome! You have never seen one? We have a forum in Quebec called Ridaventure. And although all Tenere owners are not on Ridaventure, there are 40+ S10 owners. Not bad for Quebec only, and on a French forum. I guess there are much more S10 in quebec, so it should be the...

    2014 Screen Support

Love it. I was to redesign my aluminum brackets this Winter but would be interested by your Mark II. If I could make a suggestion: make sure it can work with the wind deflectors in place.

    Am I crazy for considering a R1200GS?

I know there are a lot of rumors about BMW reliability, but if you check this report, these are not only rumors but facts: http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2015/04/who-makes-the-most-reliable-motorcycle/index.htm
