Frustrating experience. Ordered the rear compartment with the luggage rack that replaces the pillion seat and it was left out. I call and he needs my key code so that makes a week go by as I am out of town. Of course, it has no key anyway so that was wasted time. Get the rear compartment...
I cut off the front tie down this afternoon, but the bolt is still too short as the rear mount has a tab facing inwards that hits against the housing for the brake lights. I ended up using the original long bolts with the 1" and 3/8" spacer between the mount and the hole and a 3/8" spacer...
Thanks, I'll take out that 3/8" spacer and try it without the grab rails....but I don't understand why the tighten up kit bolts were so short, does not work as the plastic piece that is under the passenger seat is in the way.
I think I figured it out. Now I am trying to sort out the rack. I would call but they are closed on Friday. Anyway, tried the tight fit kit without the grab rails and the bolts were too short. Now I have the handrails mounted and it goes like this:
handrail> 1" spacer > 3/8" spacer > mount...
The answer above is correct and it is a very clean install. There have been posts/threads where guys have mounted the fuseblock behind the upper right cowling if you have not found them.
