    Off road riders opinions

I did not do Imogene on the ST, I did not want to press my luck, I'm about your age. I want to take my KLR out and do it, or maybe the XR400.. And the comment about sand is absolutely true. I was on the north side of the Michigan UP on the ST in Sept where there's a lot of sand and it was...

I see you like BIG screens too, they are ugly but they sure cut down on the fatique during the 80 mph slab runs!

    Off road riders opinions

LOL What makes you think I was just riding off road? I had to get out there and back from near Buffalo NY and I was camping. Here's a few from Labrador, same bike, same tires, same "too much stuff".

It can't be done. COBDR on Battlewings. I do wish it had a lower 1st and a 7th or taller 6th.

    Gen 1 new recall

Exactly, it's just looks like three wires twisted together, the one looks like it has a blob of solder on the end, the other doesn't even have that. Looks like they rely on the clear sheath that I'm assuming is shrink wrapped to hold them together. It's not like doing surgery to a PCB, unless...

    Gen 1 new recall

It's just a wiring harness, no different then the many I've cut into for repair or modification. Clean up the splices, resolder, seal, clean the connectors, treat them to some dielectric grease and rewrap. Yami wouldn't do that so they have a known quality splice in the new harness instead of...

    Gen 1 new recall

I have a 2012 and I got the letter. Like a previous poster said, I have to wonder why I can't just open up the existing harness and inspect/repair the existing splices then seal it all back up. I guess the work involved is probably about the same as installing the new harness though. I haven't...

Trying to cycle ABS pump and I give up.

Well, I guess I am losing it, I thought it was supposed to crank over for four secs. ::) I just tried it, it worked, what an idiot. The redneck check was more exciting though.

Trying to cycle ABS pump and I give up.

That is the exact thread I followed. My bike will not crank over with the kill sw off. I checked the batt voltage, it was 12.6. The manual says it has to be above 12.8V? The bike cranks and starts fine with the kill sw on. Maybe for some reason it has to be above 12.8 for the test to work? I...

Trying to cycle ABS pump and I give up.

Ok, I have a 2012. I have tried everything to get the ABS to cycle and I finally gave up and took it for a ride and did the redneck method in a grass field. And I didn't dump it. So, I followed the shop manual, jumper across the blue with black stripe to the black ground, kill sw off, key on...

    Newbie from New York state

Hi, I've been riding for 41 years on various bikes. I've got a 2012 that I bought in 2014, it only has 11,000 mi on it, most of that is from two trips, the CO BDR and across Labrador. I hope to do the Mid-atlantic BDR in September. Anyway, this is a great resource. Steve
