You say that, but remember they already have an R1800, so . . . .2027: (BMW engineers...1500 is a bit too much...let us reset the count!) 1000 cc (lighter is better) . . . .

Yes for a sport touring bike...I was guessing it is not appropriate for adventure bike....but again what shouldn't we expect from BM...possible!You say that, but remember they already have an R1800, so . . . .
Oh ok...interesting...well I guess once fitted there are those who will demand for the F15 jet engine to be fitted to the GS...to "improve performance and stability"'Cuz, you know, there are people out there that are demanding that motor in a GS.
Lol….modern thinkers say: If when you die, you have money left over….then you did the accounts wrongJust buy a gs or gsa and be happy already. Do your offspring need every penny left to them. You'll forget your ST in no time.
At least that would do away with the drive shaft issues.Oh ok...interesting...well I guess once fitted there are those who will demand for the F15 jet engine to be fitted to the GS...to "improve performance and stability"
Is that what they're calling Starbucks customers nowadays?. . . . protect my BMW from the hoard.
I promise that I have the money to buy a brand new gs or gsa and keep my ST....but I won't...I am already happy with the ST and my only issue is to get to ride it more often....I already drove a gsa (I shared a report on this experience in a separate thread) and I did not feel the need to buy one....my next bike eventually would be a dirtbike that I can tow for some fun in remote areas...and that would be an additio n to my ST and certainly bring a different riding experience..Just buy a gs or gsa and be happy already. Do your offspring need every penny left to them. You'll forget your ST in no time.
Well summed up...not everyone is destined to the same bike otherwise there won't be a market...Some people are destine to have a GSA, some are not. My buddy sold his loved GSA to get a KTM SAR, which he found too brutal. Moved to an Africa Twin, which is fine, but uninspiring, and the 21" front is not great for the type of riding he does most of the time. So last night he tells me he's leaving the AT and going back to...a GSA.
As a retired fireman I don't think he'd be considered wealthy, but he's willing the buy a brand new model. He's not part of the Starbucks crowd. He rides. Did the lower half of the MABDR with me in May, doing the full MABDR next week, gets rid of the AT and we'll go break it in the following week in the mountains around Cherohola. He knows what he's getting, he knows what to expect, and he's very excited to go back.
Life is good when you understand what motorcycle really speaks to you, be it a Super Tenere, a SAS, or a GSA.
I doubt that they believe that there are any plusses for the Tenere. (Or, at least none that they'll admit to)I keep wondering if, on the BMW/ GS Forum, there are 7 pages of BMW owners pondering the plusses and minuses of the S10.
JSNS
Here you go :Well we are well acquainted with the pluses, and the S10 is generally well regarded by members of this forum. I would be curious as to a BMW forums opinions of the minus. It has been my observations that defections to another brand are rare from the Yamaha S10 camp. I must confess that I am too lazy to research this and I am hopeful that Bokerfork will expand some on their opinions. To quote Spock “ Fascinating“. I have always felt the S10 has been highly underrated. And I feel it is to late to save it. But with BMW recent troubles who knows opportunity knocks. Hell they brought back the Bronco didn’t they.
