Same day... the night before it happened, my gut feeling told me to put a chain lock on my DR. Since they couldn't steal it, they broke my light, kicked in the shifter and messed up my handlebars... Sucks how being a law abbiding citizen doesn't matter these days. This event prompted me to get a Super Tenere. All that hapen in California USA? I thought that US was away fro Vandalizm!!
Don't you have guns in the USA?Same day... the night before it happened, my gut feeling told me to put a chain lock on my DR. Texas has a clause about using deadly force to "prevent theft during the hours of darkness". I wouldn't put much faith in that. Things have changed since that was written.Don't you have guns in the USA?
What happens to you if you shot a thief? (real question)
thank you for clarification.Texas has a clause about using deadly force to "prevent theft during the hours of darkness". I wouldn't put much faith in that. Things have changed since that was written.
Regardless of what our reputation is, the only legal justification for the use of deadly force, is to prevent deadly force being used against yourself, or a third person. You must be in fear for your life. Somebody stealing, or destroying your stuff is not legal justification.
As Sierra1 stated, a law-abiding gun owner is not going to willingly subject themselves to the legal, civil, and emotional fallout that comes with taking a life to prevent theft of a possession. Nothing I own is worth another human beings life.Don't you have guns in the USA?

No, we can be on the weird side. But, Hollywood has formed so many opinions in people, it is hard to tell fact from fiction. That's one of my favorite things about this forum. Y'all take trips over there, and show pictures, and tell how people react. Sometimes it is 180 degrees opposite of what to expect in the US. I love seeing the difference. 'Cuz, contrary to many people's belief(s) . . . . different does not mean wrong, or bad.thank you for clarification.
From here (Europe or near) America is kinda strange/weird/obscure (no offense), and we pretty much don't understand a lot of it.
It is probably the same from your window.
While you were answering, I edited my last sentence , sorry for my English .No, we can be on the weird side. Sierra1 is correct. (Studying to the CA bar exam; ducking from heavy fire).Texas has a clause about using deadly force to "prevent theft during the hours of darkness". I wouldn't put much faith in that. Things have changed since that was written.

Wikipedia definition of deadly force:
Deadly force, also known as lethal force, is the use of force that is likely to cause serious bodily injury or death to another person. In most jurisdictions, the use of deadly force is justified only under conditions of extreme necessity as a last resort, when all lesser means have failed or cannot reasonably be employed.
Firearms, bladed weapons, explosives, and vehicles are among those weapons the use of, which is considered deadly force. The use of non-traditional weapons in an offensive manner, such as a baseball bat, sharp pencil, tire iron, or other, may also be considered deadly force.
My wife had a motorcycle crash about 5yrs ago, she rode a BMW GS. After the crash she just couldn't ride without having a panic and stopped riding all together. We tried the pillion thing and i'm real happy she wasn't comfortable with it..LOLBoth the wife and I are 56, shes a few months younger. I Started riding at 16, a heap of a Fantic 50cc POS, took my test at 17 on an RD250 air cooled, then needed a van for work so didn’t ride again until about 30. Been riding ever since, the S10 is my 24th bike. But still have the list below, although one of the FJR or Pan will be going. Wife use to ride, but illness 10 years back left her with dodgy balance, so she only pillions now. View attachment 86783
