I hope theirs cure hard. The stuff the city here was using stayed flexible. Better for long term crack sealing, but very bad when making a tight turn on a motorcycle. Suddenly your front wheel is losing traction . . . . then regaining . . . . then losing. . . . then regaining . . . .

There was a point where they were sanding the fresh tar snakes over the Sierra, that was pretty nice. Otherwise they were slick as snot on a high noon summer day.

Sounds like ours. But, they weren't slippery, they would actually move when your tire gets on them. In the big scheme of thing, same results. . . . not fun to ride on.

When it is hot those nasty little critters will bite. Yesterday was cool and cloudy. In Arizona we use the time tested perpetual road repair methods that keep an army of Guvmint workers gainfully employed. No new advancements in road building since the Aztecs...

Took a little trip. Yes that is Buddy Hollys plane crash site. Then i visited a sod house in Minnisota. Stopped at my buddies house in South Dakota and we took off for stugis. We stopped at VanHorns auto and western Museum in Marmarth North Dakota. Sorry no pictures of that. Then on our way into Montana we got stopped by a train in Baker Montana. There was a hurst waiting for over an hour. My buddy being the conversationalist he is started talking to the driver. Comes to find she was taking a WW2 vet to his final resting place. Being my friends are retired military they recognized the name of the man. Marion J Dakota Callen. 3 purple hearts , bronze star, victory metal, European African Middle Eastern Theater ribbon with a bronze star, 2 overseas bars, army occupation medal, German good conduct metal, combat infantryman badge.
We wound up there by chance with out plans never finalized just evolving as we rode. Goes to prove that the saying is true. It isnt the destination it is the journey.

We hit Theadore Roosevelt park. If you enjoy history this is a great place to visit. Teddy definitley was a real bad @$$. We then hit the enchanted highway in North Dakota. We stopped in Regent ND and visited the museum. Don Wagendorf was a great tour guide! You need to visit there

We visited Jamestown and the Fort Lincoln. It was rebuilt by the CCC in the 30s. Also the slop indian village with the mound huts they lived in. Then we saw the worlds largest buffalo and went up a tower and saw North Dakota South Dakota and and Minnisota from there

Day ride down to the Illinois River, following the end of the Fox River. I started too late and only rode about half what I wanted. Oh well, I'll just have to go back to do the rest.

This is a dam close to the end of the Fox river.

This is the road where a downed branch nailed Walt's radiator hose last year. Uneventful this year.

I ran out of cheese and decided to go to Switzerland....
On one pass they even install one lighthouse!
I think I have read somewhere that it was on the sea where the river obviously ended and when not needed anymore they decided to take to where the river starts....

Well not today but yesterday actually me and my wife wanted to ride the “Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse”. So early breakfast and up and over the Gerlospass (which was closed due to be partly washed away, but not for a SupereTenere of course). Than an hours ride towards the Grossglockner. After paying the entry fee there’s a whole day of riding the most fantastic alpine roads and eventually the view on “mount Grossglockner” and the glacier.

Towards the next point on the alpine roads which is “der Edelweissspitze”. All fogged up but a fun road towards it.

And after the beautiful day of riding back over the Gerlospass (still closed) it goes.
Long day in the saddle and thank god my wife’s new airhawk performed like she desired.

If you ever get the chance to ride it, go!! The views and roads are a dream.

Today I took my Super Ten to a place that most of us have been repeatedly told to go to, but only few have dared to visit ... I made it all the way through ...

I'm on a ride from Bergen Norway to Bodoe and back, more pics when I settle in up there.

Well as indicated in the post above I'm on an "epic" ride. From Bergen, Norway, to the northern city of Bodoe. Total distance 1575 kms, which is just shy of 1000 miles. Might not seem to be much of deal, but ... it is all in one, eternal, never ending curve... I'm not kidding, the lengths of the longest streches of straight roads are generally about a half mile or so and rarely more. In the West the roads are as gnarly as the people inhabitating the coast (myseLf included, changing imperceptibly to more open-style roads and gentler curvatures and topography as we venture East. Oh, the gravel roads they have back there ... Then on northwards, the inter-european highway E6 a no-nonsense way of just getting there. Albeit across the Arctic Circle. And then my destination Bodoe .. a fabulous city, great people, boats, a marina and damnit if the Court isn't within walking distance to get some quarrels settled.2021-08-20 11.24.31.jpg
