Why all this complication and debate? It's a very simple procedure: When parking, stop the engine, and then remove the key from the main switch. Does anyone ever read their owners manual?
Yes you're doing it wrong if wiping with paper. Spray hose or bidet and a little soap keeps the bung hole clean and fresh. Lol...I think I may have been wiping my ass wrong all these years and want to hear how everyone else does it.
I just don’t know, I will have to ask my personal assistant that has been performing this task for me all these years! How do y’all wipe your ass?
Left or right handed?
Do you wipe back to front or front to back?
Do you lay a landing pad of tp on the water to prevent splash back?
I wish sometimes that I was not such a visual person....Use a dirt clod when I’m in the woods followed by my underware if it’s a softy.
My '86 FJ doesn't have a fuel shut off. The '77 XS 360 I had didn't either. I haven't seen a Basic course that doesn't supply the bikes for the course. I'm just not understanding why the curriculum hasn't changed up there. They're not teaching it down here.As an MSF RiderCoach, we stress 'Thumb-Key-Valve' to new students taking the Basic RiderCourse. Obviously the fuel valve isn't an issue for most bikes now, but it's still taught that way, including engine cutoff switch then ignition.
I've never understood the point of the kill switch. The times that I went down hard, by the time I got back on my feet, the bike wasn't running. And, during those times, it happened so fast that I didn't think about the switch. It doesn't matter how you turn the bike off. . . . ya' still have to remember to turn the key to off, or remove it. . . . or it won't matter.Agree, use the cut off switch, that's what its for, starting and stopping the engine. . . .
I agree, and that's my not very well stated point. Why is it there? Cars don't have them.Hmmmm...weeze not talkin 'bout goin down. Just normal stops and shut downs.
Purtty simple, me thinks.
I've got a Toto Washlet. Dump, spray, dab dry, done.Kill switch?
Key?
I just put her in first and stall it.
WTF?!?! Cannot believe this is a thread. lol
