I just purchased and received the Yamaha tall windscreen for my '23 S10. I don't have a torque tool and wasn't planning to use one for the simple install (4 screws) but the directions that came with the windscreen call out a torque specification. Any thoughts on how important it is to tighten the screws to the Yamaha torque specification? Thanks.

I was curious and tried a torque wrench on mine, couldn't keep the phillips head in the screw to bring to spec'd torque. So relied on the tried and true good nuff.

I bought an inexpensive old school torque wrench on Amazon. I figured I could use it for the windscreen and other odd jobs down the road. Plus I have a bad tendency to over tighten screws which gets me in trouble.

I'm still trying to figure out the North Carolina Parkway rider part. He's from Florida. :D But the Blue Ridge Parkway is gorgeous.
That one's easy. I'm originally from Florida and I moved back to FL about 3 years ago when I retired but I lived most of my adult life in the mountains of western North Carolina in the Asheville area. I worked and lived about 15 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway so I would ride motorcycles on the parkway every chance I got. No better way to relieve stress than riding the parkway after a tough day at work!

Okay, though you did say Phillips. I only found out about JIS about 10 years ago, after many years of struggling with what I thought were Phillips head bolts and screws.

Haynes
I consider the jis a subspecies of the phillips but I guess I need to change that. I’ve got a couple reed prince drivers that I would use by name and not phillips. Then I got curious. There are a lot of different drivers out there. And anything is better than a blade which I still see time to time. God those really suck.
