well found out today, that the 3 weeks my bike was in the garage having mccruise fitted then riding it and mccruise working brilliant but bike having the warning light on every ride after, the error code was showing MAP SENSOR , mccruise saying our kit has no wiring or connection to MAP SENSOR, so very very confusing,
any way yep MAP sensor failed at the same time mccruise was being fitted, found out anyway over here in the UK i,m the 5th guy that a map sensor has failed on and needed replacing once done bikes good to go no errors, i actually thought i was the only one that had a issue with thisbut hay ho getting back on the road now

The limited space is the worst part. It makes it very difficult to get the valve cover off, and back on with the gasket staying where it needs to be.
This is the second time it has been done. I found that if you remove three fasteners holding the brake lines, and zip tying to the left side of the frame, the valve cover will come straight out with no twisting.

Use a caliper?
Why don’t I rephrase the question as I work as a machinist and am intimately familiar with using measuring devices (including calipers) on a day to day basis…

Could someone here please confirm for me that the diameter of the accessory bar on the S10 dash is 12mm? Currently my bike is parked inside my friend’s garage about 10 miles away. My friend is working out of town today and rather than drive over and make the measurement myself right now I thought it might be easier to ask the question here on the Super Tenere forum where quite possibly someone knows the dimension of said accessory bar off the top of their head. I want to order a GPS mount for an incoming Garmin Zumo XT, thus the question. Thanks.

Fair enough, in that case the answer for the gen2 is in the picture, good luck with your project.

I can imagine your temperament as you were writing this…

Mine is a gen-1 but I’m not sure if the bar is genuine original as I bought the bike second hand. It’s about 5/8. I think I had to buy a special clamp to fit my Zumo XT.
