Bike is perfect in every way. I have a 30' inseam and bike fits me well. No I cannot flat foot it! Bike handles like a Super Duke yet is incredibly comfortable.

Will happily ride it to new owner! Within reasonable limits and in the continental U.S.

Wow, letting it go?! I do wish you well in the sale.

I can say my '20 SAS is easily the most entertaining bike I've ever owned.

Donk, check your title on this thread.

Oops! Where's spell check when you need it? Thanks

Honestly I've been debating it for a while and still have mixed feelings about the sale. I don't ride it that much by my standards and tend to gravitate to the 890 more. Not that the 890 is a better bike, it's not, I just like it. I have to admit the quality of the 1290 is far superior than the 890. You can tell it is KTM's flagship product. Probably be kicking myself when it's gone.

Wow!! Didn't you just spend a bunch of time/money of the suspension and wheels?

Yes! After owning a '15 Super Adventure that was just a bit too tall for me to be comfortable with it was sort of a dream project I always wanted to do. You cannot lower an S with electronic suspension so I needed an R. After buying the 890 Adventure I realized the 890 was "the" bike for me. When the 1290 came along last fall I hemmed and hawed because I was so happy with the 890. Finally I decided the 1290 was too nice and too good of a deal to pass up and what the heck let's do it. I had a blast both doing and managing the project and it came out PERFECT. I'm really glad I did it and it is a great bike to ride. That said I still gravitate to the 890. So yes I did spend a bunch of time and money most of which I know I won't recover but no point having a bike that sits in my shop just to look at and think "Wow that is so cool"

PRICE LOWERED $16,800.

Mileage now 16550.

No longer have 18" and 21" wheels. Sorry a friend needed them.

Great bike looking for a good home

Internet lore.

I had 4 Super Teneres - first 25K miles: 2 cam chain tensioners, multiple recalls including throttle body gaskets, wiring harness replacements, had hard start issues with both generations, and I know I'm forgetting stuff.

KTM first 25K miles: two different bolts vibrated loose, but did not fall out.

Somehow the internet tells me my KTM is unreliable compared to Yamaha.

Interesting...

As Willie said, "those that don't know them somehow won't like 'em".

I think most people that complain about KTM reliability have never owned one.

I just sold mine. I liked riding it but was facing a $3500 repair bill with some uncertain outcomes on a machine with 10,000 miles, so that was enough for me.

Full disclosure. I have no knowledge of KTMs aside from somewhat biased (or jealous) hearsay I've read on various sites. I just dropped the item in here because at the time I thought it was funny, but I have deleted the post, with apologies.

They could be the most reliable . . . . but they the most ugly too. :D Sorry, just my hillbilly ass opinion.
