Hey all, new here but not to ADV bikes. Located in SW WA and just picked up a 2015 super tenere with 85k miles. Got a smoking deal and like it enough to sell the 1290 ADVR. Way under rated bike, coming from someone who has owned 40+ different motorycles. Most of which were of the dualsport/adv catagory.

Mainly here for the sales section. I'm looking for a seat and a few other goodies.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good info and people here. I'm a transplant from the Portland area, so know the pavement in your area well.

Hello from Australia.
I replied to a post in What Did You Do To Your Tenere Today regarding my seat.
Depending on how handy you are, you can replace the cover or have the whole thing done for you with gel and heating, coloured stitching, and even stitched graphics. Look up Top Sellerie in France.
I’ve used their stuff for years and will gladly back the quality.

I'll check it out, thanks for the recommendation. I've done a few seats in my time. Need to start looking into that and suspension options.

Welcome Aboard, Tooph!
85K eh? Did you get a smoke'n deal because of the "high miles"? I've got the same on my 2012! (but most of it from the 2 prev owners).

$4000 and a 1.5hr drive. I think i did pretty good! It was mainly due to his lack of posting it appropriately. No pictures, no information listed... just model/year and what he thought it was worth. After digging, everything checked out and it was setup fairly well. Got the impression he didn't like dealing with people.

Working with my suspension guy to get an ohlins shock and racetech front currently  Hoping the bike lasts a long time! Can always swap parts over to a lower mile one later on i guess...

Yes.. you did very good. Based on your side racks, it looks like you also got a set of Jesse hard-cases (those are $1500++ alone).
I have the same and they work well but are clearly more than I need (but I'll keep them of course).
And again, welcome aboard.

Got out for a good test run today. I'm liking this bike so much. Enough to commit to a long term relationship. I'm done fooling around with all the others. I think I finally found the one.

I won't be giving up the dr650 or 2 stroke woods bike. They still have thier place.

I will definitely be on the Super Tank for big trips, far away BDRs and commuting from here on out!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes
