Hello all: Just picked up my 2024 SuperT and am having a blast. Currently shopping for soft luggage for my moto-camping trip from Pennsylvania to Montana scheduled for mid-June, 2024.

I was exploring the possibility of running the Mosko Moto Reckless 80Ls, but from what I've read here, here, and a few other places, I'm still going to need to buy some side racks (even Mosko hints at a need for racks). The right side seems iffy - floating around the rear wheel, even with the pillion handle flipped over.

The Moskos are just within my budget, but adding side racks would have me flirting with divorce. :D

I guess I could grab some racks and invest in a more budget-friendly set of soft bags, like the Tusk Pilots. But, I'm also concerned about the timing of procuring racks - Happy Trail and Touratech are currently out of stock. I've signed up for their notifications on re-stocking, but who knows?

Any thoughts on my situation?

Welcome, from Texas. Maybe check on eBay or other ADV websites for the racks? Good luck.

I have been using the R80 for years but have yet to try it on the ST. My advice is to skip the racks and run them rackless at first. All of the reviews on the new base system for the R80 show it's crazy stiff, so I don't think it will flex and make wheel contact. IMG_5774 (1).jpeg

. . . . My advice is to skip the racks and run them rackless at first. . . .
One of our members, @Don T is currently using Mosko Moto on his and his wife's CRF300 Rallys. They stopped by for a couple of days and they were not using any kind of rack support either. And whichever model they are using are extremely thick and stiff; no movement or sagging. He's currently w-a-a-a-a-y down in Cost Rica. He has nothing but good to say about the products or the customer service.

His travelogue: TRAVELOGUE – RoamingViking

EDIT: He's using the R80 Revolver luggage. Since 2020.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I was hoping to grab the R80s and give the community a definitive answer on whether or not you can run them rack-less on the S10, but I opted for the OEM side mounts. The fact that there is no documented confirmation (that I could find) that the R80s can run rack-less on the S10 is probably validation of my decision; others have decided to just throw on side racks, too.

Honestly, I think this option provides me with the most flexibility. With side racks, I can toss on just about any set of soft bags - including the R80s. I could grab a quick-release plate for the soft bags. I could also get the OEM panniers if I decide on hard cases later down the road. Plus, I got a 10% on the side mounts from the Dealer.

I'm not excited about the added weight an width, but I'll deal.

I'll post my final setup on a shakedown later in May.

Thanks again - and thanks Sierra1 for the introduction to RoamingViking. I'll be following their adventures, for sure.

My wife and kids couldn't believe I trusted a "stranger" to stay a couple of days. They didn't understand that we had been talking on the forum for quite a while. And when my dog accepted them, I knew they were ok. I'm a good judge of people, dogs are even better.

Sorry, too little too late, but I can confirm the R80's work fine on the S10 without any additional racks, guards, etc.

I think you will be disappointed with the R80 and side racks. If you insist on going with racks, get the Backcountry Panniers instead, just saying ;)

Haha! Not at all. I'm sure it will be helpful to others, at some point. Thanks for posting.

Yeah - I suspect you're right about the R80s. Unless I launched off a small building, I imagine the R80s would have little chance of hitting the back wheel. The Backcountry's...

@thughes317 and @Mad_Matt

I just came across your posts here:

:D:D

I'm going to bite the bullet and get Mosko's off-set Backcourty Panniers.

Thanks again, guys.

I loved mine. The best part is they hold their value like nobody's business. I bought my during a big discount sale, then sold them for more money a year later :p
