Like I say, it may be nothing to worry about but it just doesn’t look right to me. I’m guessing the o rings function is the same as the rubberised threads on a speed bleeder (stop air being drawn past threads) in which case not having an o ring on a speed bleeder is not a problem. But it still leaves the rebate in the body unexplained. I guess we just need to try it out

I share your apprehension on something as important as the braking system. You go first

THIS IS OFF THE FJ09 TRACER FORUM WITH PICTURE

Sorry... don't remember where I bought (last winter), but look-up SB8125L and SB8125LL (longer). There are a couple of reputable brands, Speed Bleeder and Goodridge. I found this application table... lists SB8125 for the rear, but the 'L' is a good length (in my previous photo). Front right OE bleeder has an o-ring on it... just an FYI. Replace it with the LL bleeder and done. Photo shows the two types used, and what came off the bike

That caliper looks different to ours. Ours has a recess where the o ring sits and that one doesn’t seem to have one. Because of the recess, the speedbleeder appears to stick out further.

picture above is gunslingers right caliper, that recess may be there, you can,t see it possibly as the rubber cap bottom is squahed down covering it , thats what it looks like 2 me caliper has to be the same as well its a xt1200

So my speed bleeders have been installed for three years now.

I just did a full bleed of the clutch and brakes despite the fluid looking pretty good, everything went super smooth. Took me like 30 min to do everything and then test it all.

The clutch fluid looked darker than the brake fluid but that has been my consistent experience so far with 7 years of ownership of this bike.

Going to bleed my clutch every year from now on.
