Nice job. I was kicking the same idea around and possibly printing a bracket attached as you’ve done. Then I wimped out and bought the Touratech bracket.

that looks like its attached to the top of the 2 plastic arms of the stay 1, i,d be worried about the stay 1 cracking especially after how many guys on here have broken it and the faf of replacing it and cost

just a thought.

Hi Rob I did wonder that but seems completely solid even with the Garmin attached.

I always love seeing people make what they need. Nice job!!
I'm also in the camp about adding weight to something that Yamaha engineers did not calculate for. Will you have trouble after so many bumps and so much time? Your decision.
