Looking at returning to an ADV style bike. Last ride was a standard naked but had 2 Multistradas prior to that. Want to do some light off roading. Super Ten hasn't been updated in eons but is reliable and owners seem to love 'em. Taking a hard look at the shaft driven S10 and the Africa Twin.

Welcome, from Texas. I'm biased, so I'd go with the T-12. They're the same, but different.

Greetings from Thunder Bay.

I had the same dilemna....AT or ST. Clearly I bought the ST and have no regrets. I still wonder about the AT and went on a trip with a guy with one and it was awesome. If there were more low mileage AT on the market at reasonable cost (at least in Canada), it'd be an awfully rough time....

Boiling it right down, I really do think the shaft drive tipped the scale for me....

Thanks for the warm welcome. There are some good deals out there on non-current S10 models. New 2022 for $15,999, $17,700 for a 2023, compared to $20,400 for a 2024. (Cdn $) The reputation of reliability of the S10 and low maintenance of shaft drive brought me to consider it. Africa Twin base is likely better off-road due to being 80 lbs lighter also it's not as top heavy as the Adventure Sports AT.
