MITAS Terra (terrible) Force-R specifically designed for this bike.

I'm pretty tempted just to go out and film some epic burnout videos this weekend so I can ditch that widowmaker of a tire and put something on it that won't try to kill me. Stay tuned........

Hey DD, What are you running on yours?
Currently have an Anakee 3 on the front and a Perelli Scorpion Trail 2 on the rear. The Scorpion was the OEM tire for me. My favorite rear has been the Conti Trail Attack 3. The Scorpions were excellent. So far I'm satisfied with the Anakee 3. My Dunlop Trail Smarts were fine. None of them did what the Mitas Terras did.

I think my demo ride was only around 60 miles. I was able to scrub-in that super slippery thing within 20 miles. I was able to push the tire for the majority of my test ride. But, no doubt, I was extremely gradual working up to it. I can't say if they would take a full hammering. My test bike was in "Demo" mode and it definitely was not giving me full power. Seem about like Rain mode on the SAS.

That video showed a much quicker turn than I executed. Which is probably why I stayed up. I was far slower.

How are your ribs today?
On the mend thanks, NSAID's for the win!

The new brake pedal should be here Thursday (we all know you can't straighten aluminum once it's been bent the first time so I didn't even bother trying). I'd like to get right back on the horse this weekend but it's looking like 30's for a high.

BTW, the reviews are pouring in on the new 890.....looking forward to your impressions.

Glad you're healing up.

As the details of this bike are coming in on the 890 Adventure (non-R), I suspect if I were still on a Tenere this would be high on my list of replacements. More than 100lbs lighter, almost the same HP (110 vs 105), lower seat, much lower COG, up to date everything, and a price that probably start $1K below the Tenere.

KTM 890 Adventure

Too much overlap with my SAS, so I don't see it in my garage. But I'll admit as the delivery date of my 890 R gets pushed back to February, watching the videos of this one does tempt me.

I'm going to ignore DM who is telling me to just get both 890s.

I had Pirellis on the 1290R when I bought it, very scary tire to push. At the time I blamed it on the 21" front wheel. Then 890 came with Avons and never had a problem with the 21' wheel. Put Trail Attack 3s on the 1290 and changed the bike. I ran 7000 miles on Trail Attack front and rear on my '15 Super Adventure and they looked great when I changed them. Could have easily put another 2k on them. Running the new Bridgestones now AT41 on the 890 Adventure and A41 on the Norden, loving them.

That's amazing mileage for your converted R/S. I was at the wear bars at 6k on my TA3 rear. Longest lasting tire I've had so far. A potential 9k tire is a dream I dare not dream. My SAS is tire hungry. Eats fronts even faster than rears.

I've continued to go over the reviews as they come in. Two of them really grabbed my attention in the opening seconds. This video here only needed the first 25 seconds of audio to make me understand. This other video here took the first 45 seconds to start interrupt my sleep.

Too much overlap with my SAS, so I don't see it in my garage.

Don't underestimate the power of temptation.

After a few hours of discussion this morning...DM played exactly the same roll she played when I bought the SAS. To sum it up then, and this morning, it came out as, "why are you buying the R and not this other one?" Damn-it...I don't know how to handle it when she's the logical one.

A quick check in with my drug KTM dealer....Larry, please switch me over to the non-R you have coming in this month. Done, and done.

So once again, there is no R in my immediate future.

Im definately expecting Twins.
Each bike will have a different mission. So I'm anticipating being able to tell them apart. But the twin potential was part of the discussion DM and I had yesterday. Time will tell.

I own my ST12 2022 since late last summer and absolutely love this bike, did a trip to the maritime provinces and totally appreciated the cruise control/comfortable ride/ just to name a few, I have about 6K m's in about a 2 month period. I have nearly finished farkling it to my liking - it will be completed for the upcoming season.

I plan on touring to Newfoundland next summer , will start working on my route planning shortly and booking my ferry/hotel(s) if and when I decide to move on from the T12 the bike will have to be shaft drive have all the most updated electronics and will have to be lower than all of the ADV bikes above. BMW RT 1250/Honda Goldwing (which I nearly bought instead of my T12) if its still available are currently two options.

Currently my plans are to do as much touring as I can as I just hit 60 will consider an alternative once i get there don't shoot me but alternative could be a touring version of the Bombardier trike

Anyone out in the world considering the new GS 1300 or GSA 1300/1400... I have fun reading and watching comparison videos. It sure is a good time to be a ADV rider, soaking up all the new offerings from all these manufacturers.

The S10 isn't going anywhere anytime soon, but I sure would like to have a Yamaha Xmax to play with. 300cc and very capable of keeping up at interstate speeds. Problem right now is they are in big demand and short supply so dealers are trying to sell them for over msrp. I'll wait until the showrooms are full again and prices fall. x.jpg
