I rode a combined distance of 47,100km (29,266 miles) this past season: 19,000km on my Super Tenere and 28,100km on my FJR.

As someone already said, where you live can have an effect on the distances you amass over a season. I live north of the 49th parallel and my season began on March 15 and ended abruptly on November 10 this year (about 8 months). I am not afraid of the cold and I have heated gear however neither of these facts can extend my riding season when there's suddenly 60cm (2 feet) of snow and ice on the road. I envy those of you who can ride year round.

I usually ride 10,000 miles a year commuting and doing errands. that is a given. I was looking into my service records this year while doing some work and saw that I have almost rode 17000 miles this year on the Super T and I bought a DR 650 that has almost 2000 on now. That is actually a big year for me.

With only a couple days left this year and bad weather for a day or two, I have 43,500 miles for the year. My all-time high. Previous was 42,750, [not exact] but that was from July 25th 2011 to July 25th 2012.
Milage might go up another couple hundred by January 1st but that is close enough. That is an average of 120 miles every day this year.
If the world ever turns around and all this nonsense ends I hope to up my miles next year. The longest trip this year was only to the Black Hills and that is not very far away.
Winter is the time to get bikes all maintained up for next year. I'll start with the 2017 Tenere because I definitely won't be taking it out anymore this winter.
It's probably only wishful dreaming but I want to take my wife to Alaska next year. She isn't against the plan, BUT we have a new grandbaby due in July so there goes all my plans probably.
Hope all of you got to ride as much as you wanted, It was great seeing old friends and new friends at the Rally and hope we can do it again next year.

Snowing outside now, and loading out for AZ in a couple days, so it looks like 13,050 miles is it. Likewise, a high for me. Goal of 1K/mo achieved. Actually looking forward to January to start up again. While riding anywhere is fun, AZ is a blast!

That won't be till next year.
277,500

I just adjusted the valves on the 2017 today for the first time. 32,000 miles.
All 4 exhaust valves just on the tight side. They had shims 205, 204, 201, 200 sizes in them. Weird , I had just the right shims to get all 4 valves to .25mm clearance. and the intakes were all right in the middle of the spec range. New Plugs and Air filter, Sync Throttle body's
Now fork oil, remove exhaust and paint, grease steering , Grease all linkage.

Lucky indeed, nice to get them to the top of the range...
Did you the valves in just one day? You are way faster than me. My guess is you start way earlier too...

Painting the exhaust??

Just the muffler.
I feel I'm slow doing that stuff, but I have no reason to hurry. It does take 5 to 6 hours when adjusting them.
Early? we got up at 4:00 this morning.

Compared to most i don't rack up too many miles on the Tenere, mostly because priorities. Not retired yet and so majority of my time is spent working or taking care of the honeydoo list LOL.
I do not commute with it, so i guess makes me more of a weekend warrior. Plus the riding season is limited to about 6-7months of the year, after that it is very dicey to ride with temperature drop and black ice, yes eventual snow.
Though after saying this i do get in two road trips during the season where i live off the bike for a week at a time.
So on average I'll put on about 10,000kms or 6,000miles, not much but much enjoyed and appreciated when i do.

Finally retired and then this corona thing decides to restrict my travel ambitions.
Still manage to ride about 15K kilometers during last two years.

More or less that's it's what I do...
I use the bike only for fun at weekends, and not many of them...
Living in a small country and traveling 90% up & down Dolomites and Alps I can not put too many km/miles in one season.
Luckily the S10 allowed to extend the season a bit, I start probably a month earlier and finish one later.
In a very good season I manage 16,000km or 10,000 miles.
I can only dream of all the thousands miles you people out there put together in a single season but at the end I have a lot of fun in twisty Italy....
So I won't complain, on the other hand the bike will last many many years :)

It's at least bigger than than Belgium, which is not that difficult anyway. :)

Well it is just 1200 km long (750 miles) and 550 km wide (300 miles).
People here can drive the whole length of Italy and still getting nowhere....

Longest distance north-south in Belgium: 214 km / 130 miles as the crow flies. East West: 247km / 153 miles. I mean, for me, Italy is huge. Let alone Texas.b :)

So Steve can do a complete valve adjustment and be done by noon, with coffee breaks included. Me, I allow for a couple days. The second one will definitely be quicker, maybe one long day.

Steve - did you keep the OEM CCT, or go with a Graves?

That's only a five-county trip. Texas has 254 counties.
