I want a rear luggage rack - preferably in black but bare aluminum can work. Most familiar with the AltRider but will entertain others.

I am really looking to create the void below the rack where I can stash a waterproof first-aid kit. After the injury on our Romney ride, I want to be better prepared for future issues.

I am in no rush so I thought I'd test the used or de-farkled markets first. Direct email is fastest - trikepilot at gmail

The AltRider is a bit on the expensive side for me. I am leaning towards the Givi SRA2101 rack at about $140.

The Altrider is $10 more and you can mount it high and store stuff under it. Mounted high it is level with the passenger seat. Also it is predrilled for Rotopax mount.

Indeed, TomatoCity, the space below the rack is actually what I am really gunning for. I ride the bike stripped down 99% of the time.

But the rack itself will be nice with its lash points for the TAT trip.

$10 more? All the AltRider luggage racks I can find are more than $150 online - more like $208?

Still... in no hurry so will wait for a used one to pop up on the fleamarket.

Right now, I am using my Pillion seat so I chose to just get the Altrider rear luggage rack. I am impressed with the workmanship of the item and how sturdy it is compared to the plastic Yamaha one... ::025:: I will get the Pillion replacement in the very near future for my treks across America...
