Won’t Start After New Battery and Main Fuse

Hi All,
I did something REALLY stupid with my 2014 1200 ES and installed (and connected) a new battery with the poles reversed thinking there was surely only one way to install the battery in the box. Boy was I wrong! Once I connected the cables to the new battery, there was a motor running on the back of the bike (assumed ES related). Once I reconnected the battery correctly, the motor was no longer running and there was no response from the bike when I turned on the key. It was DRT...dead right there! I pulled the main fuse and it was fried. Got a new one from Partzilla and installed. Now the dash comes alive when I turn on the key and the fuel pump runs to pressurize the system. The starter engages when I push the start/stop rocker switch but it will not fire. I read previous threads about pulling the Fuel Injection fuse and cranking WOT to clear any potential flooding (there is smell of gas). Once installed and try starting with WOT...still will not pop or try to catch like it’s getting fuel or spark. I checked the Fuel Injection fuse and it’s okay. Not sure where to focus my attention now. I will add, my tank is full of fresh gas and my bike is ridden year round.
I have since learned there is more than one orientation when installing a battery in the S10 battery box.
Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve seen cases of several fuses popped by connecting the battery backwards, not just the main one. Have your checked every fuse on the bike?

read this guy did similar

No problems with charger or cables. Tried to start with old battery, slow crank check engine light no start. Left bike sitting for two weeks, hAd to go out of town. Came back, installed new battery, hit starter check engine came on as soon as I hit the starter and no start.
Check the 7.5 amp fuel injector fuse. If you even briefly touch the battery leads to the wrong pole during installation, normally the 50 amp main fuse and the 7.5 fuel injectorfuse will blow. Since it still cranks over, the main fuse is intact, but the fuel injection fuse, if blown would not let the bike start. Ask me how I know this.

I had the Main fuse and the Electronic Throttle Valve fuse blow. I checked all the fuses with a multimeter because I don’t trust the visible check method.
Thanks all for the suggestions.

Yes, I checked multiple fuses and that ended up being the problem. I was glad it wasn’t the rectifier or something in the ECU that got zapped. Thanks!

My middle daughter was dating a guy for a while that was a complete knob. She would let him drive her car places since he didn't have one. I don't know how many times I had to go rescue them because he left the lights on or ran the battery dead with the radio you name it. Once I went to rescue them in a parking lot in the pouring rain. Once again knob boy left the lights on. When I arrived he was standing in the pouring rain, soaking wet to keep the space on the right side of the car clear for me to come jump it, trouble was the battery was on the left side and in my car the battery was on the right side. Jumpers not long enough. The number of times I had come to jump start them you think they'd remember. I kinda chewed the two of them out and again showed them how to do it correctly. Well, knob boy, now intimidated to call me again, decided to flag someone down and do the jump himself the next time. The result was two disabled cars and burnt up set of jumpers due to connecting them backward.. In the case of my daughters car of course the main fusible link was toast but so was the ignition, radio and brake light fuses The latter preventing the car from being shifted out of park. Once I found all the fuses and replaced them we also found a number of dash light bulbs blown. Luckily she broke up with the idiot.
