Hi,

I have a couple of tail end plugs under my seat and don't know what they are for, I've asked my dealer and they are stumped also, they did say it was for a heated seat but Yamaha don't list one, anyone have any ideas.20200223_111656.jpg

Your dealer's techs probably know the answers, but I wouldn't expect the sales people to know. One is for the diagnostic connector associated with the ABS. There are posts on the forum about bridging two wires to cycle the ABS pump during fluid flush/change.

The two flat plugs are not ones I have seen before. (I had a '12 and a '15 std bikes.), and they don't look OEM to me. Did you purchase the bike used? Or they may be specific to the ES version.

If you purchased the bike used, they look suspiciously like an in-line splice for something. Power commander, self canceling turn signal unit, etc.

Hi, I bought this new and the sales guy said it was for a heated seat, a few months later as winter came on I went back to see about a heated seat only to find Yamaha don't list one, the dealer technician came and had a look and hasnt got a clue what they are for so I'm stumped as to what use they are.

Do you have the Raid fog/driving lights installed?

The tech should have know about the diagnostic plug for the ABS. If he didn't, it's no surprise that he couldn't identify the other two flat connectors.

Most heated seats just have one plug, though I suppose it's possible that one is rider and the other passenger. I've not seen or heard of a factory heated seat option either. The two flat connectors appear nearly identical, which is what makes me suspect something inline. It would be an odd location for the lights, which normally would be somewhere under the throttle side, side panel where the battery is located.

Perhaps someone else with a Gen II ES bike will chime in if they have these under the seat or not?

The tech new about the diagnostic plug but not the two flat connectors, the dogs are fitted and wired into the auxilary by the battery. Maybe someone can shed some light on this as this goes along.

I asked the same question about the same plugs when I joined the forum. I've got a '16 ES. I still have no clue what they are for either!
Hi, didnt see your question about this but glad I'm not alone, have nott met any other riders with an S10 to ask the question whilst out on the road.

According to the manual, the black connector above, releases the restriction of Euro 4 (goes from 112 to 140 hp). The black connector below deletes all files from the ECU. Did you move the connectors when you took them out?:):):)

:):):)[/ Citat]

poti fi mai explicit? în cele din urmă, după trecerea manualului.

@flonic - Cred că făcea o glumă.

Welcome to the forum. Please take a moment to put your location in your profile. It adds context to your posts and helps others better answer question. It took me a bit to discover your language was Romanian.

I still do not learn to speak or write English well, I am forgetting Spanish .... if I have to learn Romanian, I will end up staying mute .... The connector thing was a joke .... they always move place when you take it out, I should have put it another way, something like .....
158400D5-E47B-43FD-8159-4284F61794F9.gifA black connector, give you 140 hp, the other...burn out you ECU, you have 10 seconds.....let the game begin

I am from Romania, Eastern Europe. as for st1200z i have it from 2018 and i have some problems with it.
If you put your location in your profile we won't keep asking you where you are located. :)

In regards to the hard start problem, your Euro4 bike is possibly similar to the California models in the US. If you have a charcoal canister, you may want to remove it or bypass it from the system. This is not something your Yamaha service will do, because it violates Euro4 regulations. But doing so will remove the extra fuel being pushed into the system w/o re-circulating the unburned gases.

Also important, if you drop the bike it is possible for the charcoal canister to fill with liquid fuel, which will ruin it and cause many starting and running problems since vapor will no longer move through it easily. If your bike has been on it's side, this is possibly your issue.
--------------
Dacă vă plasați locația în profilul dvs., nu vă vom întreba unde vă aflați. :)

My ‘15 model ES has those two flat connectors too. I figured one was for ECM diagnostics and the other associated with the ES system?
