Any auto parts store. Ask for a Bosch style relay.
Correct, a 12 volt auto relay. Some come with 5 wires some with 4. You should only need 4. Just don't use the wire in the centre of the bottom of the relay, I think that it is called #87B.
Correct me Mak10 in case I'm wrong.

Yes, for a simple ON-OFF you only need 4 connectors.

Hi! here is my switch for my piaa lights.. how do these wires figure into the relay diagram above? I tried putting the black into the ground and the whites into 86 on the relay and brown on the aux plug but it doesnt work.. any thoughts? thanks in advance!
Hmmmm, lots of questions here.
Frustration I know.
Now, it becomes pure logic.
By that I mean start from the lights.
Provide or attach a 12 volt power source to ensure the lights are functioning. Next, using a volt amp meter test the on off switch. Now there's a possibility that you may have created a short and have caused a fuse to blow.
My advice above is merely trouble shooting to rule out a fuse or a fault, or faulty lights.
Assuming the above is all in order...go to the next step....
Review the instructions for the light installation. Read the instructions again.
According to your description you are using a relay for your installation...and that is good.
I'm going to have to hand you over to someone with more knowledge and expertise than myself.
Anyone who has recently done this installation or call piaa and hopefully piaa can provide you with some assistance and guidance for your installation.
Done my best...
P.S. there are several methods to install aux lights.
Mine is totally different and I won't bore you with that, although I received a lot of support from Tenere forum members to which I am very grateful to.

While you're at it you should consider an Eastern Beaver fuse block.
Agree, that's good advice, although I just used a relay for my installation.
Good luck with your LED installation because you will be happy when you get them working.
Yamaha should make LED'S as standard equipment.
They know that the bike's headlights are very poor.

Here is what I'm connecting to SAE connector wired directly to the battery that will run my compressor, connect to battery tender, and with SAE to EC5 adapter to connect an AG xp-10 jump starter.
I have Rigid D2 driving lights which come with a harness that I will connect to the factory 3CS connector with a splitter (use to split one 3CS output to two) from Eastern Beaver. I’m going to replace the Rigid switch to a handle bar mounted 2 way switch to control when I want to run the light. The other leg of the splitter will be used to run a EB three plug harness (which is fused and has a relay) to connect directly to the battery to run my GPS plus 2 other future devices, one will be probably a spot/flood lightbar.

Did you attach both white wires to the relay? It looks like that switch has an internal LED indicator.

The brown wire from the factory connector should be connected to either terminal 85 or 86. Then the solo white wire can go to the other terminal, then the black wire on the switch can go to ground (the jumper wire between the two connectors on the switch means either connection should work). This will make your lights work with the key on, and the switch closed (LED light on).

Just keep in mind that the word circuit is used for a good reason, electricity flows in a closed loop, so a break anywhere, or a dead branch won't be energized.

Hellos to All,
I got these connectors from Electrical Connections in Knoxville Tn. Very helpful folks to deal with.
I haven't taken delivery of my new '18 Tenere ES (too cold).
Does somebody out there have a picture of the fuse panel battery area showing the socket that I connect these connectors to. I'm going to be putting LEDs and a 12 volt socket for an air pump on my bike. The LED lights and 12 volt socket both have two wires, and these plugs have 3 wires (black red brown). I'm hoping for an easy install but I'm a little confused. Is the bike's plug male or female? Appreciate any help.

HI, I was steered to this post because I posted a question about a switched power source. If I understand this correctly, there is / are plugs provided in the wiring harness for accessories, and the above plugs are to plug directly into the harness for accessories?

If so, do you have a source or part numbers so I can order some?

Thx

One additional comment or amendment, the ground wires don't go to the relay, they go to a ground source on the bike (I used the negative terminal on the battery)
Let me know how it goes. With this compatible plug that connects to the bike's aux light plug there is no need to cut any bike wires.

Thanks for the info on wiring aux lights . I will give it a try today. Only one question.. why not use the black wire on the 3 pin aux for all grounds . Lights and relay . Just like your diagram ?
