I have a Parabellum tall, winglets, and the Madstad. I'm 6'2" but tall in the torso. For me the screen made the biggest difference (reduced buffeting) followed by the Madstat (easier to dial it in and change based on conditions) followed by the winglets (helped a little, I think). Without the Parabellum the winglets might have mattered more (tho as I recall Parabellum recommends them) but I think the bigger factor is how far you sit back. I sit all the way to the rear of the rider seat with the seat set to high, that far back I think the winglets may be less impactful, YMMV as clearly the comments here would seem to suggest.

OK I bought some, I will install them and report back. I also have the stock Yamaha and Tall Yamaha and will try them both. I also bought that adjustable bracket to fart around with settings as well. (madstad I think it was?) I am 6'1" with longer torso.

I have the winglets and love them. Had them on my 2012 and so bought the new ones for my 2014 ES when I got it. However I am only 5'9 1/2" and love the stock windscreen too. Seat in low position and stock windscreen in medium position works well for me.
YMMV

Zombie thread I know but how do you install the Winglets?
What year is your Tenere ? Generation 1 Tenere’s mount a little different than generation 2 Tenere. I have the generation 1 winglets mounted on my generation 2 Tenere, all I had to do was cut about 1.5 inches off the front tip of the winglets.

LOL, well I don't actually have one yet! I was looking at either a 2018 or 2019 and was wondering how difficult they would be to put on. There are different generations of the winglets? Do they snap on to the windshield? Can you remove them? Are they adjustable? Just looking for some general info really.

On the Gen 2 the winglets mount using holes already on the frame that supports the headlights and windscreen, they are not adjustable, but are super easy to mount and takes 5 minutes to put on the bike..

I'd like to hear how the winglets work with the stock '14 screen. I looked into the tall screen but it's only 22 inches and not that much taller than stock for me since I'm 6'3".
I've got them on my 2014 (see Avatar pic) along with the stock windscreen and the adjustable deflector (which I keep set low; I like to see clearly, especially when off-road). Those little winglets actually do help quite a bit as mentioned above in the prior post(s). Would I buy them again now that I've had first hand experience with them? If you ride all year round or at least in colder weather, I say they are worth the investment. If you're a hot/warm weather rider only, I'd say skip them...and enjoy the additional airflow.

I am in the Western Cape of South Africa, not called the Cape of Storms for nothing. The winds get hectic and I have had winglets fitted to a standard screen today, will collect bike tomorrow and post results.

I rode with these when I lived in Washington State, but when I moved to Illinois I removed them because I needed all the air flow I could get for cooling (me) during the summer. I found them to be useful and effective.

Considering taking mine off for the hot weather. Can't remember what it was like without them (but then, it was in the 30's that week and I don't remember/feel much from that time with no winglets and a short screen), but I'm gonna go find out again. :)
