Windshield compatibility on Madstad bracket?

I want to confirm if Gen 2 windshields can be mounted on a Madstad bracket for a Gen 1.

As I recall the the Gen 2 windshield has the holes spaced farther apart because of the factory adjustable windshield bracket. The Madtstad brackets for both Gen 1 and 2 are the same except for the windshield hole spacing. Gen 1 brackets fit Gen 1 windshields and Gen 2 brackets fit Gen 2 windshields. Some have drilled new holes to make them fit.

With a step drill bit you can make almost any windshield fit any bracket.
