That's kind of true and kind of funny. The Super Ten with bags is no lighter than the FJR. Different ergos though. I put 162k on an '04 FJRa and have about 130k on Super Tens. Neither is 'light'. And I would not choose to lower my S10. I currently am running Pirelli Angel GTs after mostly running Heidenau K60s and Mitas E07 Dakars in the past. The S10 does fine on pure street tires.Seems like a lot of us ride mostly pavement... Perhaps Yamaha should offer a version of the S10 with street tires and lowered a bit? Would make a great lighter weight alternative to the FJR...
FJR 642 (ES w/bags)
Super Tenere - 584 lbs (ES sans bags)
56 lbs is insignificant, imho. And real world bike to bike would be even less when you add crash bars and panniers to the Super Ten.
