It's warmer in the Yukon this morning
In Chama, NM now, lunch stop. 80's and a perfect riding day in the mountains of CO/NM.

The vistas aren't quite as distant or as grand as the Yukon, but you won't get any complaints from me today!

A lot nicer camp site than my hotel room in Lubbock, TX tonight! If you poke around the back side of the sign post forest you will find my license plate sized sign commemorating my and my wife's trip a few years back. Cletha and Eric's Adventure. White plate with our pics on it.

Hyder/Stewart. Great place, but not the same since the paved the streets and tore down the old wooden docks. Just the nostalgic in me, I suppose. Hope you ate at the Bus and visited Carolyn for some fudge and fun.

Weather was moving in and I was trying to beat it, so had to skip that.
Next time.

Too bad, but a good excuse to return. If you can work it into your route, it's real fun to do the inside passage from Port Hardy on Vancouver Island to Prince Rupert, then bomb down the Yellowhead to Kitwanga and up to Hyder. I did he day passage, but the night passage is ok too. More to see on the day passage and a short run up from the dock to the RV park that has tent spots on wood rafts. Showers too and a store, but not much for food when I was there last.

Just got back from the Fundy Adventure Rally, where we were able to get Gold medal finisher status. On the exploratory run the day before, a rock managed to bust my rad, but some JB Weld and a bit of stopleak got me going. On the rally, we managed to drown an Africa Twin, but with a spark plug removal and water draining, a ten mile tow, and a bit of luck thanks to a friendly local, we were back on the go in less than three hours. We were within two minutes of being time barred on the last leg, but made it, got back to HQ at dusk.D462E889-3F9F-4D22-8312-8677EFB93045.jpeg66474847-743D-4A60-9507-A7971CAD922C.jpegFEC819E0-2F26-4F39-8D73-D26C037708C5.jpeg

Wooden dam on Round lake built in 1878 , was built so they could hold and float logs down the river, it’s about 20 miles east of Fifield wi. In the National forest.

Just arrived home from a 3 day trip. From Dartmouth NS up to the parents place in Miramichi, New Brunswick the first day. Up the coast to Shippagan, over to Bathurst and on to Mt Carleton to end the second day. Back down along the Tobique and St. John River today and then some slab riding to get me home tonight.
1700km over the three days with just over 800km of it today. With the exception of some light drizzle the first day I was lucky and had great weather the whole trip.IMG_0173 2.JPGIMG_0159 2.JPGIMG_0176 2.JPGIMG_0220 2.JPGIMG_0242 3.JPGIMG_0241 2.JPGIMG_0238 2.JPGfullsizeoutput_114.jpeg
