That sucks about Four peaks. That road from the west side up and over was a really cool ride on the S10.
Hopefully it will eventually reopen, as well as Apache Trail past the Fish Creek area.
A Highway Patrol officer I talked to this last week said there are no plans at all to reopen Apache Trail from Fishcreek observation point to Apache Lake. We tried to drive up to the observation point Monday, but it was closed about a mile away, as they were filming a Mt Dew commercial with motocross bikes. He said the erosion damage is too bad, and there is not enough money. I told him they should let the citizens take care of it. There would be at least an OHV path within a week. Unbelievable that they built it by hand and with mules, but they can't fix it now with all our modern machinery.

Workman creek up to Aztec Peak. Normally this ride would be with GV550. Solo today. The last couple years, we've turned around just past the water fall due to ice and snow. Open all the way to the top this year. Just one streach of snow/ice close to the top on the north side. What a view from the top!

I hope you all had a great riding weekend. I was able to get out for 6 hours on Friday. Went solo and saw some sights in Pennsylvania along the Delaware River. Nice, peaceful, empty roads.

On Sunday, I was able to get out for about 5 hours with my wife's friend and my brother. We went to the Captain Emilio Carranza Memorial in the Pine Barrens of NJ. Sun and clouds and more amazing empty roads.

Have fun and be safe. Enjoy the day everyone.

Rode to the eastern closure of Apache Trail, Az 88. Closed at Apache Lake. They do have some activity down by the lake. There was a bike/pedestrian gate open at the closure. Almost kept going but then I thought "What if the come by, close it, and lock it?" I would not be able to ride around the gate.

So 88 is closed between Apache Lake and Tortilla Flats? You came down 88 from Roosevelt Lake?

Closed between Fish Creek Vista and Apache Lake. You can get from Tortilla Flat up to Fish Creek Vista, which was closed for a while after the Woodbury fire. I need to get up there and hike down to the bridge to see how bad it is. Yes, went in from Roosevelt.

Then I hiked from the Fish Creek Vista down to the bridge at the bottom. While there is damage, this section was not as bad as I expected. Except for a 20 yard section, I could have ridden the S10 down and back.

This is the section that is the biggest problem. Could probably get a 250 or smaller through this on the right.

Looking back up:

Some rock climbers up there coming down:

After a couple days of cold, graupel, and snow in AZ, finally got another ride in. Globe to Winkleman, Kearny, Florence and home. Did have to dig out the winter gloves and crank up the heated grips. Many of the roads to the rim were closed yesterday.
