Replaced my tires with K60 Scouts with my no-mar tire changer. As I have a wimpy air compressor, this saved my life -> http://www.bestrestproducts.com/c-154-beadsetr.aspx to get the bead to set. First time with the wheels off, will be far faster next time. :)
Hmmm, mine didn't need to be squeezed. They were touching rim, just needed to introduce air.

I too went with the K60 tires. Thanks Jaxon! I got tired of all the slip sliding around when I came to this kind of stuff:

I don't have a tire changer so I had the dealer mount and balance a set for me. :'( $$

I think for what I do, the K60 will be perfect! Next weekend I plan to "scuff them up a bit."

Must be a K60 kind of day. My were dropped off at the house this morning. Put them on and tried them out.

Have less than 100 miles on them so far. I have to decided if I'm going to leave them on for my trip down to all the twisty roads of western NC (think Tail of the Dragon area) next week, or if I should re-install the Tourances for that trip. I'll take out the K60s and give them a twisty workout tomorrow to see if they can handle it. They were a little squirmy at times today, and even after 65 miles I was surprised to see my TCS light blinking on pavement when I was in TCS2 and hammering the throttle. I do hope they'll be good enough for twisties because I'm not real fast at changing tires.

Just picked mine up after Jaxon added Akra,PCV w/auto tune and Arrow header.
If you haven't had a chance, do this! Highly recommend.

Rode 500+ miles... some on a beautiful Big Sur Highway... very windy at times, so much so that kept my attention ???

Headed to Ojai for a new BMS seat on Monday morning. Riding with BluByU tomorrow.

I ordered the spokes few months back, only got it powdercoated recently..
Maybe going for Woody's ones if these set dun last..

Was contemplating with black or purple, but you know the answer..
Will be truing it when I slap on the k60s..

I'm letting Woody do it because I like his upgraded spoke option, and the last bike I had with spoked wheels was a CR-125 somewhere around 1987 = I would trust myself to only COMPLETELY screw my wheels up if I tried a total spoke changeout.

Your wheel looks sweet - I can't wait to see a profile shot of the whole bike with the purplefied spoke treatment.

Fast shipment from Jaxon and spooned these tires on during the week so I could break them in this weekend. I used the old fashioned tire changer, two tire spoons :D

Let me see, 600 pound bike, brand new semi knobbies and a wet curvy road with ice , snow and gravel...perfect for break in! :D

A bit sketchy at first, but I did get in plenty of dry twisty road later to really start running them hard. First impressions are my tourances are certainly better for aggressive riding on pavement, but that's not a big surprise. Next weekend I'll give them a go in the dirt and see what I think, the few gravel patches I rode today (which were just cutting corners off the pavement ;) ) the front tracked better. Time will tell how much a compromise I'm willing to deal with.

Took the beast out for a flogging today and am happy to report that there are NO ground clearance issues with the Micatech Pilots! >:D Buddy who was riding behind me says there are 3=4 inches to go with the peg down.

Continued my slow wiring project (slow since I'm still waiting on bits). Added a couple map lights similar to what ~TOBASCO~ did here (link). I used some accent modules from superbrightleds two red and two natural white. They come with sticky foam tape on them, they stuck right to the inside of the headlight bracket. Very subtle. Very bright. They're ready to hook up straight to 12V, no other bits needed.

Camera didn't do well with the lights out, so this is all I have :-[

Still trying to figure out how and where to mount my trail tech SCMR16 HID auxiliary lights.

Local for you To! :) Top of Hamilton Saturday morning. By mid morning San Antone Valley and Mines rd were dry and ready to be ripped on,except of course the usual piles of gravel in the corners. love it out there.

Wow, that white stuff threw me. Hadn't heard of any over that way. Did Diablo get a blanket as well?
