Received deftener's large caps and switched to LEDs. Nice and bright, but:
1. Lamps are H7, but don't exactly fit in. So, not sure they are exactly aligned and vertical there and how bad is it.
2. Both beams went down, probably because of different bulb length. Will have to adjust somehow.

are you sure the bulbs are properly installed ? Yamaha makes it very easy to improperly install the bulbs, Honda makes it impossible to install them wrong.
i believe in the Tenere the tab on the H7 bulb belongs in the 7 o’clock position
Not my first time changing bulbs. 7 o'clock is where it is supposed to be, but the rest just doesn't fit in. Will take another look and maybe get another ones.

Changed the oil. Oddly, the same amount of oil that kept the oil light staying on, is enough to keep it off this time. But, it's barely showing in the window. o_O I'm going to put more credibility in the window. If I can see oil, it's there.
Spooky shit mate, ive just done my change tonight and the same thing ?? I put a bit more in to...i'll ride tomorrow and check it when i get back .

Mine didn't feel right, didn't look right, but was right (been in a year now). Play with it a bit they eventually do go in.

Are you taking the whole thing apart to install? Or trying to go through the back?
To take it off is 4 4mm hex and then 4 10mm bolts. and just slides out the front (cables on the parking lights are a bit short so don't yank). The adjustment screws for aiming the lights are also accessible this way.

Bulb change through the back, didn't decide on an adjustment yet.

Pulled the rear Ohlins out for some service. When I got back from Arkansas I noticed some 'wet spray' in the dirt around the shock and swing arm. Im not sure if its just good timing or the super cross jump I accidentally skied off of, but its weeping a bit. Time to get the service, I now have about 25-26K on the shock. Sending it into Ohlins and they will completely rebuild it and will be good as new.
I already have the fork parts in, and this winter I'm pulling the forks down and rebuilding them. Pulling the triple trees, pulling swing arm, valve check, and I have a list of about 15-20 things to clean, lube, check, or change. In a few months it will be a new bike "again" !

Do you have a fork rebuild guide?

I am tempted to pull mine for a full cleaning and fresh oil as a winter madness project.

The last forks i did were harley forks, so like 80 year old design lol.

I do have the service manual... If you would like, I can probably take a picture of the pages and send them to you or post them.... Ive been working with forks (& bikes) for 30++ years. I can do these forks with my eyes shut. LOL. If you get stuck you welcome to reach out to me, Ill be happy to help in any way.....

If you going to get into your forks this winter, "I would suggest" replacing the guides.. This bike seems to be hard on guides. While you inside just throw seals and wipers on it as well.

Thanks that is great info. I do have the fsm, jusr wasnt sure how sufficient it would be in this case. Ill look at order guides and maybe seals...if i am going to pull them off, may as well replace those.

Ten forks are really simple to rebuild. Panman and I did both of ours after our 2019 AK trip. Good reference from The Tenerist with pics and step by step description, do make sure you have a spring compressor, bushing and seal driver.

If you get into a bind give me a shout.

I cycled the ABS pump and changed the fluid front and back then cycled the ABS again. Changed the clutch fluid, I also cleaned and re-greased the clutch and brake lever pivots, it was surprising how much crud had built up on them.

Tied my aux lights in with my high beans on one switch. So now I am a wall of light when I need to be.
Went with a push button rather than a momentary switch so I can have everything on at once or off at once if passing a car. I think I am going to rewire it so the red ring is on all the time rather than just when the lights are on. Need to bend the bracket just a bit more so its in easier thumb reach.
