Today i got my pit-mat that I ordered at Yamaha. . . .
Another option is to use "old" vinyl banners. My wife works for C.A.S.A. and when they have events, they use vinyl banners to advertise. After the event, they throw the banner(s) away. (they have dates printed on them, which prevents them being reused) The boys and I use them when we change oil to keep it off the pavement. My oldest keeps one under his truck, 'cuz his 16 yr old truck has a leak or two. That all being said, the banners are not as cool as the Yamaha mat, nor are they padded. But, most places that discard them do not charge for them.

Edit: here is an example of a vinyl banner. The back side is plain white. I have some mats specifically made/marketed for catching oil, that don't work as well as the banners.

There's no such thing as cold weather, only poor choice of clothing.
I'm in southern Ontario, Canada.
Yesterday was a gift, with a high of 22 centigrade, er...about 70 Fahrenheit.
My buddy John and I had a great ride!
Now, today is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT story. Woke up to a cool 2 C or maybe 34 F.
Soon the ground will become white.
A good rule of thumb is don't ride below 6 C or about 40 F, cause your tyres don't grip no more.

Winter oil change.

After 10 years running nothing but rotella t6 in many bikes, ballisticxchris convinced me to go ester based.

Motul 4t 7100 from now on. The red color is kinda cool.

Sunday is supposed to be 80ish (F) for the high. By Tuesday. . . . 41F for the high. 20F used to be my lower limit. . . . until I was reminded that any moisture on the road is frozen. So, the new lowest was 32F. And, yes, cold tires don't like to grip so much. Nowadays? 40F is my lowest limit. Below that is why I have four wheels, and a heater.

I have been using MOTUL 4T 7100 10W40 in my S10 for the past two years while putting close to 10K miles on the clock and I am quite
happy with its performance. Shifting is slickety, slick, engine seems to run cooler and I totally dig the crimson color....

I wasn't willing to shell out megabucks for Clearwaters just to get the 'hit the horn, driving lights go full bright', so I spent a buck on a 40v/5a diode, and wired it across the trigger wires of my Denali horn and my aux lights.

You WILL see me, stoopit cager! :p
