How do you like the bend of the Protaper vs stock?
I am considering this change as well and would like to hear your thoughts.

I like them fine, still tweaking. As you can see it the picture they are pretty close to the stock bend... minus the damage to my stock ones. I drilled the holes for the controls like what was on the stock bars, but I think I’ll end up grinding off the nubs on the controls so I can rotate them. The protaper are an inch shorter on each end so definitely not as wide as the stock bars. Hope that helps.

I checked on the wrapping of my side covers.
You’ll probably see the scratches under the wrap, it probably won’t stick well being plastic or around the angles and it will be around $300.

I’ll pass.

$300?!?!?!? I got two flags installed on my Jeep for $32. They weren't as large as a case panel, but they're not 10x smaller. Shop around. . . . or use a rattle can wrap.

Very interested to hear your thoughts on these sneakers once you put some distance on them.
Just a quick note, I only have about 150 miles on them at the moment: So far my initial reactions to the Trailmax Missions are as follows: On pavement the front end LOVES to tip into corners, way more than my old Battleax A41s - that was disconcerting at first. It rides a little bit like a blocky tire on concrete but with much less noise and wobble. There's still some wobble but it's not terrible. When cornering on pavement, under heavy acceleration, it gets a little slippy in the rear, but I think that's just the kind of acceleration I was doing and the fact that it's a 50/50 not a street bias 80/20. In the wet on pavement it performs admirably, I didn't notice any issues that it didn't already have while dry. I have not yet taken them off road (it's been cold and I DO have to work), but I'm certain in anything but the most sloppy conditions, they will do well.

I will also say that at 124 on pavement, there is no speed wobble or noise level that is unacceptable. So all in all, so far I'm really happy with their performance. I'm about 100 miles off what I could call scrubbed in (250miles), so I'm hopeful that as I get used to the way they are different, I can adjust my riding style to match and have more confidence in them on-road.

(I also posted that on ADVRider so it's a copy/paste).

Having read a bunch of other rider impressions, they'll last and last and last. I may not get a chance to really take them off road in the near future and once winter hits it's that much harder (though not impossible). But a lot of public spots close down "for the season"

Using a GPS, all I could manage was a little over 110 MPH. Perhaps I ran out of patience as it wasn't accelerating very quickly at that point. Bike has factory side boxes and factory tall shield.

I had no boxes on it at the time, so maybe my wind resistance was just a bit better? I think the downhill section of I-270 helped a bunch.

My yamaha warrior hit 135mph...i would be shocked if the tenere wasnt close to that. I have honestly never tried to find the max speed on this bike.

I would expect to find max speed in 5th gear on this bike, rather than 6th.
I saw 137mph, and she was still pulling well, when I backed off. Level ground, no bags, can't remember wind, and semi-confirmed by my kids FJR speedo. Stable as a rock. Only reason I backed off, was that I was still breaking her in. Wasn't looking for high speed when I got her; that's what my FJ is for. Was expecting a 100-115mph bike; just expecting a bigger KLR.
