Rode the ST about 250 miles from home to Gillette Wyoming and back with a side run over by Devil's Tower. While travel on the Interstate is effortless a stiff cross wind made it an adventure for 70 miles or so. The ST fuel gauge said 45.6 for the trip. Lots of bikes out today but I saw no other ST's on the ride. Mostly HD cruisers and a small number of BMW and metric crotch rockets. Wyoming Highway Patrol was out and writing tickets every time I saw one.

My throttle hand started cramping at about 200 miles and would not quit even after just turning the throttle with my palm rest. IMG_0694.JPG

Get you a McCruise. You will love it. Game changer.

When we took the clutch plates out we marked their location down an a paper bag and put them back in the same position we took them out of. The new clutch housing makes it seem like a whole new bike. No vibration in between 3 and 4k rpm. It also seems to rev up faster. I only went around the block so the real test will come when I get my forks back from being upgraded.
Your description sounds familiar, although I also found it to be considerably quieter too. it’ll be a much nicer bike to ride now:)

Caught my second flat in 20 years. Plug got me home. Now im tearing apart the rear and cleaning/lubing it all while i try to find a shop that can get me a new tire mounted.

I caught a metal shard that came in on an angle and sliced into the off-center knob of my rear Anakee Adventure (only 1 year old, 4K miles ).
A plug will not take because of the slice but the leak is very slow, need a new AA none-the-less.

At that point i would just run a tube.

Had my wheels and tires with new tires dropped off at my local Yamaha dealer to have my Road 5 Trails installed. If I'm lucky they'll be ready to be picked up after I'm off work and I can put the wheels/tires back on the bike and buzz around for a good break-in tonight.

Those are probably the best rain tire on the market. Living in seattle, i would be running them if i did less off pavement riding.
