Does anyone have a solution for soft panniers that are waterproof?
I detest the OEM boxes, too big and ugly.
I tried some Nelson Riggs body bags...don't like, so sent them back.

Agree. Never got on with those OEM boxes either. Big, heavy and shite.....IMO.

I bought these, they're a bit of a pain to get in and out of, but seem to be watertight, so far:

I reckon you could fit kriega bags to your pannier frames. They come in 10, 20 and 30ltr sizes but they all join together if you need more.

I have these (Ortlieb saddlebags) as a backup to my hardbags. These were used without racks in this pic. Simple, nothing fancy, very waterproof. Rode thru many downpours with. Everything inside staying dry. Aerostich is where these came from but Touratech sells them now. F55CC391-AC01-4253-9D96-BD9B0A5C06F7.jpeg

Coolant change today. Thursday I replaced the rear pads and disk. Put on a "Bikemaster" disk sourced from Fortnine. Made in Spain from German steel. Is lighter than my toasted stock one. Used EBC HH pads. Lets see how that set-up works. Just going to keep an eye on it this time. It still floors me that after only 26,000 km, (16,000 miles), the brakes got down to metal on metal, but apparently reading the brake threads, that's how it is! Guess I'm used to my Suzuki GSs. I get at least double that on them!

Yeah, apparently, although they're all made in Japan. . . . doesn't mean they use the same brake supplier. Trade secrets I guess.

I've used non official shaft drive oil for 130,000 miles and I've never had a problem so I don't think that is true about it 'attacking' the seals

Fitted my ECU which had been remapped by Grant at Wiz Performance in Leeds (UK)... sent it off Tuesday afternoon back on Friday.... What a difference the remap makes, acceleration is greatly improved / smoother and throttle shut-off seems not as harsh. No more 'nodding donkey' helmets taps from the missus sat behind too, bonus! (Oh and the rad fan now comes on at 100 degrees). :D:D:D
Well worth the money.

How much do you want to spend? There are some very nice systems like Mosko Moto and Giant Loop, but they can cost as much as a nice hard pannier set up.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, go down to your local Marine supply store and look at boat bags and dry bags. Long ago when I needed saddlebags for a bike not designed with them in mind I bought two waterproof boat bags with water resistant zippers and stitched the handles together to let it drape over the seat. Bungie cords to secure them to the bike. Worked very well and only cost about $40 US or less. Wasn't sexy, but did the job on lots of multi-day trips. Ideally you want a dry bag duffle the size that works for you. Then you can connect the handles from one side of each bag together to drape over the seat. They often have rings built in to secure in boats, which can be used to bungie or strap down to the bike. 30L to 40L sizes look like a good fit to the S10.

Something like this, but mine were more budget friendly. LINK

Thanks for your reply and inputs.
Great solution, as you mentioned, might not be too pretty, but if it keeps your kutunda dry then that's all that matters.

This company make motorcycle specific waterproof bags, and they are 100% waterproof, I’ve used one of their bike products for year. Very reasonably priced, however I’m not sure if there’s a supplier where you are, or if they’ll post. Worth a look though! Just checked, they do do international postage.

Nice looking product Boris. Too bad the shipping is rather steep at 41 GBP to US or Canada. Makes them about $150 Canadian, depending on VAT.

+1 to dry bags.
I get mine from Amazon for a LOT less than at West Marine and I even have a commercial discount.

Mounted new Michelin Anakee 3 tires front and back. Left the tires outside in 95 degrees in the sun, and with enough NoMar lube mounting was a breeze. Should always mount tires in July.
