I just got used to pulling in my clutch lever, when canceling the cruise. Smooth and easy.
on Goldwing I usually cancel cruise by just a very light touch of the clutch lever, but my Tenere must work different than most Tenere’s, I have to pull the clutch lever much farther than the Goldwing, maybe there is some kind of adjustment for that ?

As on other ride-by-wire throttles, pushing it all the way forward will cancel the cruise without slipping the clutch or flashing a brake light.

.... must be the ES had it on 1 helmet + bags ,but no bags and the damping was a bit harsh, ….I still think it is an ugly paint scheme ....
I use 200lbs per helmet, and 50lbs for luggage as a starting point; you'll have to experiment to find YOUR setting(s). I wouldn't call it ugly, but maybe unfinished. Still love the blue rims. (your first farkle matches perfectly) It depends if I'm solo or have a passenger as to how I turn off the cruise. Solo....just back off the throttle, and use as much of that wonderful engine braking as I need. W/passenger....slightly accelerate as I'm lightly tapping the back brake....slowly roll off of the throttle....smooth as silk.

While your out in Arizona I highly recommend riding 191 between Springerville and Clifton Arizona, it’s all paved and very curvy over a bunch of mountains, when you get to Clifton you will ride through one of the biggest copper mines in the world, I checked the miles through the mine and it was over 10. Watch out for deer and open range cattle.

well rode it home , felt very different than the 2012 , felt taller . been a long time since I rode a brand new bike ,so the 2019 felt solid and taller ,did I say taller .... must be the ES had it on 1 helmet + bags ,but no bags and the damping was a bit harsh , tomorrow being Saturday I will have a chance to get to know the Duckling , I still think it is an ugly paint scheme . cruise control on for a few minutes ,I am going to like it just as soon as I can figure out what I am supposed to do with my right hand ... I can ride pretty comfortable with my left off the bars but right hand never . heated grips seem like how did I ever ride without them, already. the windshield is putting air on my helmet right at my eye level with no buffeting ,will try taller shield setting tomorrow. the bike is clean as it should be from the dealer , the old bike never looked so old till I had them in the same parking lot . 7 years I have had the 12 , it lived its entire life outside as I have no garage . mostly its on the porch if its idle ,in the drive with a cover if I am riding everyday.... testament to how well Yamaha has made these bikes to play outdoors. (not sure how a GS would fair under similar conditions. ) the 2 riding modes are just that , there is a difference . touring is smooth and easy , sport is some what abrupt . will no more tomorrow in this area. I feel good about this purchase , I got a great deal , the dealership woods cycle country in New Braunfels Texas has always treated me right . so that's all I have tonight.

Lucky man!!! Agree with ya, I much prefer my all black scheme 12 over the new colors.

nice trailer setup, show us some pictures
It is a 2009 Kendon 2 rail, I removed one and moved the other to the middle. (I prefer to have the weight centered, although Kendon says it isn't necessary.) The two cargo boxes are bolted on and provide waterproof storage. I also used the panniers strapped on for more storage. (My wife has to bring a ton of shoes!) I built a more substantial ramp that works in the middle. It still stows under the rear. I would prefer an enclosed trailer, but this stores in the spaces I have available and it tows so well you hardly know it is there.

Got the barkbusters and cold weather storm shields on. Should provide alot better wind and general protection then the stockers. Should make for a more comfortable commute in the cold am.

Threw in the YTZ14 Yuasa. Seems to have cured my crank / no start issues. Was skeptical about the low crank volts pulling from the ecm, but seems to have been real. So far, so good. Starts up quick and no issues with crank and throttle down to get her going.20200106_211040.jpg

A year ago I had a series of "Crank/No-Start" events with my 2014.
I replaced the original battery with a fresh YTZ14 and have not had that issue happen since.
