Got my Amazon mirrors today. They won't stay adjusted on a rough road. The shape of them bugged me too. Return time. I'm gonna bite the bullet and get some more stock gen 1 .
mine did the same thingChanged out the right front rotten rubber turn signal. Rubber went bad on both front turn signals and caused them to fall/droop down within 1 month of each other. $60.00 each for stock replacements with the running light for the fronts. Should have done the 2014 LED change.
Doubletakes are your friend. Get a set, never look back (oh god, the pun, it burns)Got my Amazon mirrors today. They won't stay adjusted on a rough road. The shape of them bugged me too. Return time. I'm gonna bite the bullet and get some more stock gen 1 .
Nice looking CB400F you have there, looks like it is a '75.Installed a couple of 90mm Hella spots. Went out for a quick adjustment run, and while they're not Clearwaters, I think they will do a pretty good job.View attachment 61219
Thanks! I bought it as a very rough runner, and dumped way too much time and money into it. It's a ´76, the ´75s had tank coloured side covers. Sadly, due to time constraints, I've only been out on it a few times in the last couple of years. I keep it in running condition, but it's become an expensive piece of mancave art. :-( . I would say the condition falls between a fair and a good on Hagerty's guide. I'd probably sell it, if the right person (someone with enough cash, or the right D-P bike) came along...Nice looking CB400F you have there, looks like it is a '75.
Nice setup!Wrapping up a valve clearance check
They were close to spec, I run mine on the fat side. Had to stone one shim to size because the hotcams kit didn't have half sizes. I also took the time to collect data on the cams and camshaft cap boresNice setup!
How were the clearances? I'm guessing in spec.

I have the hotcams shim kit. I cant recall the priceI'm adjusting the valve clearances - 6 of 8 are below the minimum clearance at 42k miles. I don't think they have been done before.
Now waiting for the shims to be delivered to the Yamaha dealer, but not the Yamaha dealer who told me I had to buy each shim size in minimum packs of 5 (that's 5 at £9 each, 3 different sizes needed so they wanted £135)!
I had been watching that ABBA SKY LIFT, I had my doubts if it would work on S10. I see that it works, but I also see that you made some modifications.Added two more PIAA's (top ones/flat pattern) and re routed some wires on the custom wiring hub I built (Denali power hub for sale!).
Wrapping up a valve clearance check @ 30k as well.
