I took a longer ride to my summerhouse over the weekend, some 250 km from my home. The major objective was to test the Touratech saddle. While riding there I put the Touratech on and I needed the first break in about 2 hours of riding. The saddle is pretty hard from the beginning, but it has somewhat changing profile, so over the time you can change your sitting position and then different ass muscles get the pressure which helps to relax the others and so you can survive pretty long before need for rest. All in all I arrvied after some 3,5 h ride in a pretty good shape. My bottom was somewhat tired, but in no mean in pain.
Ok, then on the way back home on Sunday I installed the stock saddle and in the beginning it felt nice and soft, much better than Touratech. However, after 1,5 h ride I badly needed a break. Changing position on the stock saddle did not offer any relieve. After the first stop I needed another one in 40 minutes and then yet another in 30 minutes and by that time my ass was aching so badly, that in full desperation i change back the Touratech seat. What a difference! The final 20 minutes home went without any issues.
Touratech has 3 modles: low, standard and high. I had to take the high option as they did not have the standard in stock and I had no time to wait, going for a 2 weeks trip to Germany in the end of week. The high option I set on the lower seat position, but I was still sitting slightly higher than on the higher position of the stock seat.
