I took both Micatechs off, the Givi topcase and my Biker's Friend. Cleaned them all and brought them inside. I'm starting to pack and plan for my ride down into B. C. in about 10 days. Nothing else to do as it's been raining for two weeks so I'm enjoying working on that. Gettin' 'er done. R

Today I installed the Givi Crash Bars that I purchased from Revzilla. Easy install. Order to receipt was a week and a day. The bars seemed to have a lot of little dings. Odd because they were really packed well. I’m going to clean them up with one of those touchup pointers in matte black and we should be good. :)

Looking good twitch!!

I may have to break down and order those, looks like a nice fit but bummer about the scratches.

Don’t let the dings on mine influence any purchase decisions. All the pieces were double bubble wrapped and then the whole bunch was shrink wrapped into a thick plastic bag such that nothing could have moved in transit. So those dings must go back to something at the factory and no one else mentioned a similar case. Probably just an anomaly and it will be easy to touchup once I get some paint.

let's see... last week i installed the DPK 257 sticker on the front windshield. DPK = Dread Pirate Kermit to honor a fallen friend, Ken Morton. more info at http://dreadpiratekermit.org/

today i installed the alt rider luggage rack and side stand thingy. then i wind-tested everything. DPK had a big ol' grin on his face and everything else checked out.

i was going to install the skid plate and crash bars, but it didn't happen. tomorrow perhaps.

Wasn't as productive as some, but I got the first service out of the way today.

90 miles of freeway to the dealership. Serviced. Then 110 miles of back roads home.

On the way home found out that this bike is sneaky fast. Every time I looked down at the readout, I was speeding without trying. :p

After spending multiple hours working on the bike 14 of the last 16 days, today was simply removing the GPS hardwire to the battery and connecting it to the wiring harness plug for the heated grips. Then spent 90 minutes checking every visible bolt and checking torque on the axles.

I now declare the bike is ready to launch on my anticipated 4K+ mile trip to Nova Scotia this beginning this weekend.
have a safe trip, I am behind you by 2 weeks

Got up in Hyder Alaska this morning and rode home to Whitehorse Yukon, awesome but wet ride! Loving the bike clicked over the 7500k mark as I rolled into town. Need a new rear tire due to the high speed on our chip seal roads.... Highway 37 was in great shape, bike ate upthe rode!!1

Yesterday - brought the bike home - 50 miles for a 20 mile trip. It's tall! I can barely reach the ground. Good thing it's so stable and easy to ride.

Today - Rode 2 up to the beach, my husband drove - he likes it!

Also got a new tankbag - need storage!

Rode a bit more myself too. 145 miles now.

Did it's first oil/filter/final gear oil change. Easy to do! It really needs a good cleaning - got caught in torrential rain last night and just enough construction to make a mess.
