Looking good mate - don't worry about Bloke - beauty is in the eyes of the beholder after all. And anyway, I think he'll think your bags look pretty good the first time he mashes his OEM bags in a minor tipover ;)
Thanks bud ! :D I could care less about BLOKE... :D Mines about function!

Took mine back to the dealer to pick up oil, filter and say hello to the FZ1 I traded in that the dealer is now riding! Weird to see it with different tags.

Rode to work.

First run with the new GS tank bag from Bags Connection which I installed last night. Not sure I love it. Then again, I usually dislike new stuff. I need more time to play with it. I need to find a better fuse panel before I wire up with 12 volt power source.

This morning, my wife noticed the scratches on the exhaust heat shield. They are from last weekend's 1100 miles run. My Giant Loop Great Basin bag rubbed more in a couple places than I had expected when I strapped everything down.

After spending multiple hours working on the bike 14 of the last 16 days, today was simply removing the GPS hardwire to the battery and connecting it to the wiring harness plug for the heated grips. Then spent 90 minutes checking every visible bolt and checking torque on the axles.

I now declare the bike is ready to launch on my anticipated 4K+ mile trip to Nova Scotia this beginning this weekend.

Sweet. Have a great trip. I'll have to show you my 45 minute DVD I made of my trip to nova scotia in 08.

So would you buy the Giant Loop bag again, knowing what you know now? I've been considering that set up. But first things first, I need to get the bike. Only a couple more long weeks....

Great mate! Finally happening eh? I remember the angst about whether the bike would be here... will be a fantastic trip, was up there (and Newfoundland) on the Strom a few years ago.

I haven't done the thorough going over that you have - did you find anything loose?

Tonight O0 I took the tenere out to adjust and test the new Denali 2's. Simply had a blast riding after dark. Most fun since I saw Sheri naked in high school. ::) This bike is so much fun.

Schedule is: Amarillo Tx to Altus OK for the dealer service this weekend. Next weekend Amarillo to Albuquerque for a "live run" fully loaded. Then Sept. 2nd I leave for the real thing to Mt Rushmore, Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier, Banff, Jasper, Beautiful Mt Robson, Lilloett, Vancouver, San Fran, Yosemite, then a fast dash home by the 22nd to a PO'd wife. :D

...went out and whispered sweet nothings to her. You see, I'm in the middle of a nine day straight work marathon so there she sits, eager, anxious, heart beating, legs quivering, plugged in to the Battery Tender. She yearns, she perked up when I walked in......

damn, I feel like I'm in Junior High again!

No riding until Monday at the earliest!

You're a fair-weather rider eh? (I hear Perth's had a bit of rain)
No, far from it.... It's be pissisting down here for the last two months but I ride with the Klim Gortex suit and stay dry as a bone..
Dont even bother looking at the weather when AI have riding on the mind these days.
Problem is I have been so busy that I havent even been able to consider getting out for a few hours, as a few hours turns into a full day by the time you clean up then have a nanna nap to recover. ;D

I don't think we've seen your impressions of the Ohlins yet have we? Can you link me if so?

Trevor
Havent even had a chance to make the brackets yet.. Have not even sat on the bike with the rear shock on.. :(

Greg.

I found one stripped screw on the end of the left side of the handlebar. But I found that on day two and Timmy at Romney sent me a new one. I thought the 4 screws around the headlight were not as tight as they should have been, but other than that everything was good.

Today I installed the Givi Crash Bars that I purchased from Revzilla. Easy install. Order to receipt was a week and a day. The bars seemed to have a lot of little dings. Odd because they were really packed well. I’m going to clean them up with one of those touchup pointers in matte black and we should be good. :)

Installed my Eastern Beaver 3CS harness one unswitched and two switched works like a champ and Jim does awesome work. The thing I love about the ST is it's so easy to work on and add mods like it was made for them. I love the location of the battery.
