I purchased them from the guy who has the company Storm industries. they cost about 70 bucks a set and pretty useful for small items such as maps, first aid kits and charging cables. They are not waterproof. I found the guy on ADVrider forum "corrado113". he makes them as needed and takes about a week. ::021::

Washed and cleaned it. Going to ride it to dinner tonight and an all day ride tomorrow.

Had to lay the bike up for a bit, as the radiator started leaking ........again (after getting it repaired twice!). I noticed that the Altrider bars were getting rather tatty, as the paint had started to flake off in several places. As they were off, I decided to strip the old paint off and freshen them up with some rattle can satin black that I had sitting in the shed. Then I noticed that they were made of stainless steel, so the polishing mops and Solvol Autosol came out instead. After several enjoyable hours of satisfying my natural obsessive tendencies, i'm left in two minds as to whether the results are a little to "bling" for the understated beauty of an S10 though. ::)

Sorry about the photos being upside down but it seems that either my computer, or this site won't let me load them right way up! ::)

Yep........that's what I was thinking. I think i'll go and get them powder coated but i'm unsure as to whether to go back to black (sorry Amy), or go nuts and do them in red! :)
Red of course!! You even have to think about it? Do it do it do it!
Sorry, my attempt at subliminal suggestion.......... ::008::

Here is one of my customer's bikes with red Rumbux bars to give you an idea of what it looks like.

Re Torqued the front and rear wheel spokes ~ 50 inch lbs. About 10% were about 40 inch pounds. None too loose. I am Checking every 4,000 miles.

Installed Motowerk Highway pegs. Installed on Givi crash bars 1" diameter tubes. Have not done a long ride to test out location and fit. Not sure if they will interfere with removal of the left and right covers (Battery / Radiator).
While high quality they make the S10 look less adventure based but should be great on long interstate rides. Bought cheap Amazon folding pegs with 10 mm threads ~ $10.

Installed Yamaha OEM rock shield. Cheap $123 Amazon. Only bought as a gravel kick up shield. Do not buy it if you plan to bash off rocks and logs!!!!
The 3 small (10 mm head 6 mm screw) that hold it in place are weak.
I never plan to do rock bashing single track work but after riding some mountain gravel dirt roads wanted some protection.
When I was installing the new OEM Al shield I found about 10 small rocks lodged under the OEM Plastic rock plate. The Aluminum OEM plate will at least reduce that number given the larger coverage area.
Access to oil drain plugs easy with OEM plate. I believe the Oil filter will also be removable with the OEM Alum plate in place.

Thanks for taking the time to show me this Eric. I think that this colour combo looks really good. It's firmly cemented the idea of going for red, when powder coating my Altriders. ::008::

That colour was matched to the red on the Yamaha sticker on the upper fairings. The customer already did some custom seat work with red side panels as well, which nicely ties it all together. I have also done a couple in Yamaha Candy Red, which my local powder coater has an exact match for. More metallic, but very sharp results. I have another set being done now in Candy Red for a Super Ten, with some others in Silver Vein, (silver/gray/black texture), as well for some 1290 bars. If I remember, I'll toss some pics up here.

Fitted a set of these, but not had a chance to go out yet to get the best setting as she says it's a bit cold at the moment.
I don't like these sport pegs they come with, they are a bit short and have sent for another type with rubber grips.

I went for a ride in the rain...heavy rain at times. And glad to say both the Shinko 705s and the PIAA LP530 lights weren't affected by the water! It was a matter of either riding, although wet, or not riding for another week. I wanted to ride. The Joe Rocket RS-2 rain suit did a nice job, as well.
