Days are getting shorter and with the 100 mile round trip to work a day all in the dark, needed some highway lights. The bar in the middle is a yellow led bar. Going to live with them for a week and decide if I want to wire them as turn signals.

Also necessitated moving my horn, not 100% on this mounting location but it sure does fit in well there.

Are you looking at the dash computer or doing the math yourself. Those two numbers tend to vary pretty widely.
Doing the math usually results in 1.5-2 mpg lower mpg. Even that is not entirely accurate, it's hard to fill to the exact same spot every time. I just use the "real time" computer calculated mpg to tell me how happy the motor is; or that I have another tire puncture.

Today i got my pit-mat that I ordered at Yamaha. Didn’t want my baby to get cold feet this winter ;). Also everything was delivered for the service I’m doing when weather turns bad. Perfect dealership and got a nice 15% discount on grand total.

Replaced my rear tire with a Dunlop trail max mission. For the life of me, I could not get that Mitas E07 tire off the rim. That tire is so stiff, I thought I would bend the rim trying to get it off. So I took the wheel to a shop and peeled it off and put a new one on for $20. I’ll remember to go back there next time as well, and save the aggravation, blood, SWEAR and tears.

I also removed the driveshaft, cleaned/lubed the splines. At 39,000 Km’s, the driveshaft was in good shape other than the collar which has rusting. Should there not be a gasket where the pumpkin attaches to the swingarm?

Could you post or PM info about the new Yamaha mat your bike is on? Thanks

Changed the oil. Oddly, the same amount of oil that kept the oil light staying on, is enough to keep it off this time. But, it's barely showing in the window. o_O I'm going to put more credibility in the window. If I can see oil, it's there.

Adjusted my compression setting since it was off by 4 clicks on one side. Turns out this and rebound can move on there own over time :( .

I had the exact same issue this week. I could barely see the oil in the window, AND, the oil light came on only during acceleration. I added 1.5 oz, the window level is now between hi/low marks, and no oil light.

Tonight when the POTUS debate got predictable I mounted my (cheap as chips, nicely built, thanks Matt) Nav bar stabilizers.
Yesterday I painted them with JP Fast Black Wrinkle, which looks perhaps a bit weird at first but I like that it reflects no light. Now that they are installed, they disappear. Stoopidly solid mount, now to move the previous owners Montana GPS to the right so I can figure out how to get an old Perfect Squeeze cell mount on the Nav bar.
Any pix of such a mount appreciated.

I like those lights, where did you find them?
Didn't find them, made them. Cheap pack of led lights £10 on ebay for 10, two packs of SA cable clips £8 so I put together 10 lights for £18 as I already had some 6mma threaded rod and nuts, wired in to stay on all the time appear to get me noticed more in the city.

I used a pair of those lights on home make brackets under the headlights, they don't illuminate the road ahead very well but they definitely make you more visible on the road.

Another option is to use "old" vinyl banners. My wife works for C.A.S.A. and when they have events, they use vinyl banners to advertise. After the event, they throw the banner(s) away. (they have dates printed on them, which prevents them being reused) The boys and I use them when we change oil to keep it off the pavement. My oldest keeps one under his truck, 'cuz his 16 yr old truck has a leak or two. That all being said, the banners are not as cool as the Yamaha mat, nor are they padded. But, most places that discard them do not charge for them.

Edit: here is an example of a vinyl banner. The back side is plain white. I have some mats specifically made/marketed for catching oil, that don't work as well as the banners.
