SHUMBA, your relay may have welded the contacts together. Do you know the wattage of your aux lights and the amperage rating of your relay?

Watts = Volts x Amps.

20W @ 14V DC would be:

20W = 14V x Amps --> Amps = 20/14 = 1.4 Amps

With 3 lights, that would be 4.2 Amps total. If the rating on the relay in this case was not at least 5 Amps, it could have welded the contacts closed. This happens on dodge minivans for fuel pump relays (Chrysler TIPM module) and all sorts of improperly sized relays. It sounds like the simplest solution to your problem. Of course, the on off switch could also be compromised when wet.
Thanks for your input, much appreciated.
I'm now packing a spare relay in the event this happens again. Please read my initial post above.
Using the formula you gave me along with the specs on the box for the lights, each LED light is 3540 lumens @ 29 watts or 2.18 AMPS. I also have a single 6 inch strip LED mounted beneath the headlights.
So, I estimate that the total amperage draw is approximately 2.18 x 2 + 2 = 4.36 AMPS.
The amperage rating of the relay is 12 volts and 40 AMPS.
I think it vibration played a part in this failure. As mentioned, I wrapped the new relay with some dense foam to hopefully eliminate vibrations. I think that I need to revise my wiring of these lights. I did use fuses for each and every light and both 12 volt sockets I added to the bike.
Thanks again for your reply and info. If anyone else out there has additional advice or comments ....much appreciated.

Oh Holligl. You will find me, even more disgusting besides me having a clean bike. Are you sitting down? Hahaha.
I'm 49, no cavities, eat chocolate right after dentist, maybe brush 3 times a week. Maybe. (My wife of 20 years knows this. No surprises here)
If i take an motorcycle vacation with friends, i will have enough clothes for each day. But when i come home, say after 7 days and have 5 days of clean clothes, my wife thanks me for less laundry. ( My excuse is it keeps the biker women away) You do the math. Hahaha
Sorry for any that does not indulge anymore but bear with my picture, as i do take care of my rides, probably better than me. (See above) Today was shift pivot lubrication.

I fitted an eBay sourced flip-up adjustable spoiler to the stock screen then took her for a ride to scrub in the pair of Michelin Pilot Road 5s that I’ve just had fitted.

The screen spoiler was ok after I tried a couple of different screen heights butI May have to dig deep and get myself an NC Vstream Sport Touring screen.

Initial impressions of the Michelin’s over 160+ miles were good too, steering is lighter and the bike is more “flickable” and it grips really well too as you would expect. Looking forward to more testing!

I have the Michelin Road 5 on as well. So far so good with a little over 2000 miles on them. Got caught in torrential rain in NC and they handled very well even though we took it easy and safely. Very confidence inspiring in the twisties with great grip. I noticed a slight hum from the front at higher highway speeds but nothing that bothered me to any extremes. I'm curious to see if i get the same mileage as the stock Battlewings.
Enjoy the ride and have a great day.

Fitted a USB/Voltage port in the dash and a Sit & Fly seat cover in preparation for my my trip to Romania next month. They guy selling them does not do a specific one for the S10 so had to cut one down from another bike. Also trimmed the rear bottom side of the seat foam and raised the front a few millimetres.

I hope your usb/volt meter lasts longer than mine. 3 months and it’s dead. Water must have rendered it junk. First the usb stopped working, then the voltmeter died. Mine was a cheap one off eBay.

Yes, planning on doing those. Have been as far as Croatia a few years ago but not Eastern Europe
