I got a ride in today, the next two days look real nice but I've got to finish up some commitments around here and then Mon. I'm going to have back surgery  This will be my last ride for a while.:( Rode roughly 300 miles today and rolled over 8k since purchased last June.

No pics, winding up a week in Florida. A few days in JAX, some visiting of good friends, a trip down to Key West and a run along the Gulf Coast and thru the destruction zone from Hurricane Michael today. Tragic stuff. Ended up on the border of FL and AL for the night.

Fitted A Givi Airflow and Madstad bracket both from my old Versys 1000 yesterday, an improvement and today fitted a pair of winglets......and big big improvement.
The winglets were made by a local company called SlipScreens in West Wales (UK) and work brilliantly, they retail at £40, even less if you collect. I only phoned up yesterday to ask if they had any, they said no but would make a set for the next day, they did not ask for a name or money in advance.....just good old fashioned service.

I actually have a set of these on order......................I ordered them in "clear"
Hoping they show up soon, so I can install them before my trip to Arizona.

This afternoon I took Beauty & The Beast out for two separate rides and then gave them both a Spring cleaning:

Beautiful!!!

I washed mine today too. (no pictures of that though)
Used my compressed-air gun to blow the water out of everything, then I started it and let it run till the fan came on.
Then I took turns giving my boys rides around the block on it :)
Pulled it into the garage and got to work on a few additions.........................

First came the "Footman Loops" with a twist...........................

I bought a package of 2" black ones from Amazon, then made a stop at ACE Hardware for some screws, washers, and lock-nuts.

IMG_3955.JPG

Started marking and drilling holes.
I ended up having to trim some of the plastic ribs on the underside of the lid to get the washers and nuts to end up on a flat surface.

IMG_3954.JPG

I also relocated the screws that hold the limiter-strap to the lid while I was in there.
I wanted to give it a bit more open-angle. Sometimes when it's cold, the straps don't relax enough to let the lid stay open.

One side done!

Now here's the twist part...........................

A while ago I bought these (very cheap) Car-trunk organizer nets off Amazon in the hopes that I could somehow make them work as Pannier-Lid Nets.
These are the kind that Velcro to the side of the Carpet inside a Car-trunk, and form a Hammock-Net once installed.

IMG_3874.JPG

I wasn't planning to use the Velcro strips on each end to fasten them, so instead I used a punch and a hammer to knock out holes in each corner.
I used the very end screw for the Footman-Loops to fasten them at each corner. Since the nets were a tad bit wider than the inside of the Pannier-lids, I fastened the inside holes first and then folded it over to fasten the open end of the Hammock-net toward the outside.

IMG_3958.JPG

I also ended up with this $3 Car Sun-Visor Organizer to use for small items, or cash, or Registration/Insurance paperwork?
It just tucks up in the Lid.

IMG_3960.JPG

Fits neatly up inside the Lid.
IMG_3962.JPG

Both Sides Done!
I should really put all this stuff in one big Farkle Thread......................

Now that is extremely functional and cost efficient!
Nice work.
Would you happen to have a link for those exact 2" Footman Loops?
I like that the holes on them are recessed to allow a flush screw mount.

Next up was the Dash-Plate and the Windscreen Stabilizer Brackets (both purchased from Forum Members)

Painted the Dash-Plate Satin-Black.
IMG_3503.JPG

Mounting was really easy, using the hardware that was provided with the Stabilizer Brackets.

IMG_3970.JPG

I then installed this waterproof USB charging port.
IMG_3934.JPG

IMG_3935.JPG

I installed a 7.5-amp fuse in place of the factory 3-amp one for the OEM power-socket.
I tapped into the wires for that to power the USB charging-port..........................I left wire leads to later use for my Garmin Zumo 550.
I just need to get a smaller bar-mounted RAM-ball for the install. The Garmin only uses less than 2-amps so I should be OK.

IMG_3971.JPG

All plugged-in and charging.
IMG_3972.JPG

IMG_3973.JPG

Tomorrow I'll finish up with an SAE port on the Dash.

It was pretty easy...............just mark and drill.
It's also really easy to remove the plastic rib material from the underside of the lid in a couple areas.

You don't need to go crazy-long with the screws either.

Looks excellent. Very nice additions. I like the cargo nets and the visor organizer. I’ve been trying to think of a good place to keep my registration/insurance paperwork. I do remove my panniers sometimes. Right now I am carrying them in my wallet which I don’t like either.
