I took off my Givi sidecase racks, took off the grab rails, and used lots of washers to shim things so I could put the Givi sidecase racks back on. I cut out a rack shaped piece, from 1/4" aluminum stock, and got started figuring out where to drill the holes to attach it. I'm going to drill several sets of holes so that when I have no passenger, I can put my topcase on the rack under the passenger seat, to keep the weight as low and forward as I can. That's why the grab rails had to come off.

So would you buy the Giant Loop bag again, knowing what you know now? I've been considering that set up. But first things first, I need to get the bike. Only a couple more long weeks....
Yeah. It's a great bag. I'm the one that didn't get it setup optimally.

Removed a couple stickers. Whoever said this was an easy task may have been over-simplifying a bit. I'm thinking Yamaha layers are heavily into glue stocks.
Also trying to figure out how to silence (or at least reduce) the resonance emanating from the AltRider bash plate. Anyone having this problem? The thing rings like a bell. ???

Did they have any rubber bits to help dampen the vibrations? I bought the SW one, not really much better than the OEM, but it's rubber dampened all over the place. Kicked up some sizable rocks yesterday and she clangs very loudly, but I haven't noticed any frequency vibrations at all.

DUmar, you could probably try some neoprene or rubber washers between the plate and the mounting brackets. Just a thought.

Got a license plate and ordered the OEM headlight guard from Yamabits in the UK. Gotta get a parking permit so I can ride to work! Oh yeah, it needs a bath too....

Well, I installed a Bags Connection/SWMotech/tank ring thingy on my bike today. I LIKE IT !! What a neat little set up. The bag can't move, yet it comes off in about 2 seconds, doesn't touch the tank, can't blow off, and looks good. Just the right size for misc. stuff .... couple small tools, insurance, cell phone (I don't have one), can of Pepsi, whatever. I really like it. Thanks for asking. R

Which bag did you get? I'm wanting this setup with the "city" bag.

Daypack II. Just exactly what I wanted size wise, and fits the bike perfectly. I'm tickled pink ... uh, maybe let's don't talk about pink. Anyway, I'm very pleased. R

Not what I did TO my Super Tenere today, but what I did with it. I couldn't wait any longer, so tried and successfully completed my first throttle wheelie in first gear. Rolled off and back on briskly, first gear, traction control off, Sport mode. Came right on up.

Hoo hah!

You frisky devil, you ..... If I had tried that, I would have been wearing my bike as a blanket. R
