What to replace cyclops LED headlight with?

Been out on the bike the last 4 days, and on the second day, pulled up behind a tanker truck and sure enough, the Cyclops bulb on my left side is blue. This will be the second time the left side has gone out. They seem to last about 20K miles or so, and the left side is the replacement "new and improved version". I just ordered the Novsight, as I am done with the Cyclops. Even with the 50% off they offer on the replacement, it will be cheaper just buying the Novsight.

My question is, will the Cyclops cap work with the Novsight, or should I just order some new ones from Deftoner?

You should be fine with the Cyclops caps.

Both of my Cyclops second gen bulbs that were allegedly cured of the burn out problem from the first gen ones have fried their LED emitters. I think there's just a fatal flaw encapsulating their fans this way preventing proper cooling. Need some kind of cap that lets the fans reside outside while still maintaining a water and dust proof seal.

Both failure's have been on the left side (1st and 2nd Gen). The right side is the original 1st Gen, and still going after 60K+ miles. I have had people say no, but I say the radiator heat contributes the the demise.

Hi all, I am trying to install the Novsight H7 LEDs. There is a disk on each Novsight light. Is that supposed to be removed before installation? I am having trouble seating them correctly and getting the retaking clip to attach like it was before. Any advice is appreciated.

What version of Novsights do you have? I don't recognize that design.

I have used the fan-less LEDs with Deftoner’s caps for a year now in Southern humidity and over 105 degree days and they are holding up nicely.

I recall having to slide the clip on the base first with the light slightly out of the housing, then move it in and seat the bulb.

I installed one of mine the way Eric explained, and it was a PITA. When I got to the second bulb, I realized that by pushing the body ( the part where the fan is) and holding the piece (disk) that seats in the headlight frame, then turning counterclockwise and pulling it out towards you, the bulb will separate from the mounting disk. You then install the disk first, hook the retaining clip, and then install the bulb into the disk (there are little tabs that need to line up) push the bulb in, and then turn clockwise. A little hard to explain, but the bottom line is, that the mounting disk on the bulb, detaches.

Yes - I remember that with mine you took them apart, installed the main part, and then reattached something.

Got it! The trick for me was to take the disk off and see how it aligned, put it back on, then I was able to easily clip it in. My error was thinking thr tab aligned to the top. It not obvious that it isn't getting flush. They look good... We will see how much they light things later. I just need to figure out what marker lights to buy.

So I'm about to undertake this task having decided that $180 for cyclops is a no go especially after so many talking about failures. I was about to order these "silver ones in the pic" after seeing several people use them. Then I saw these "black ones with an angled head and internal fan".

Which ones should I use silver heatsink, black built in fan, neither? Is there a club favorite if so what I'm looking for best light output with durability? I'm confused in my tiny pea brain they're both supposedly 10k lumens, 50w, and 6500K color temp one is $70 the other is $40 WHY?

After two bulb failures on the Cyclops, I was done with them. I purchased these, easy install, and so far, I actually like them better then the Cyclops. No night riding with them yet, but pulling into the garage, they seem to actually be brighter. Longevity, we will see.

Are they a direct replacement, or did you go with the larger covers?

Also, how does this affect high beams?
