The CL ad just says Yamaha. No year, model, nothing. It does say it's in "excellent condition". $900.

There a lot of scams on CL these days (I've been looking for RVs, so see them all the time). If it seems too good to be true, it probably is...

I defer to the others, I'd have said R1 or R6, but don't know enough about those bikes to say what year range.

If it's not local to you, ask to see more pictures, of something specific. If it's a scam, they won't be able to provide more pics, since they stole what they have from someone else's ad somewhere. If it's real, they will be happy to take a pic of anything you want, in most cases. You could also ask for the VIN and run that thru the local PD to see if it pops up stolen.

Could be lots of things. It is 14 years old and sport bikes typically don't retain value, as that market sees 10k miles as "high mileage". I would ask about title and branding, if it's currently registered and when any kind of service was last done. If it's been sitting a while it may need fork seals and who knows what else. R1s used to have a rep for burned up bits when people wheelied them for long periods and the oil pump starved since the pick up was in the front. Not sure if that applies to this year, or even if it's a realistic concern for most bikes.

Worth a look and test ride if it's something you find appealing. Common sense will spot a lot of red flags.

First ad - Sport-Touring?? I think not. Last ad, "shaft drive"?? Again, I don't think so.

It's not un-heard of for someone to place multiple ads in multiple areas, but it is against CL rules. But I suspect two or more of these ads are fraud. If someone contacts them they will likely get the usual, I'm out of the country now, but you can pay me and I'll ship the bike, etc. Or give me a deposit and I'll call you when I get back so you can pick it up and pay the rest. Scammers suck.

Track bike. Run from it. Who knows what its been through
+1
It's a 14 year old track bike, so has been crashed many times and the engine/trans has been flogged badly on a regular basis. I wouldn't take that bike if we're free.

Looks like a fantastic deal. I would jump on it before it’s sold. You can’t beat Craig’s list for finding a great bike for more than a fair price!

I see all the craigslist ads have been flagged and removed. I haven't done much craigslisting; it that something craigslist does when they suspect an ad is bogus?

Yes it is! I sold something once on Craigs list many years ago. It worked out but was a real pain. You really have to have patience and be very careful when making any sell/buy transactions on that site.
