Givi?
I know it's not the best pic. I thought someone would be able to recognize them.

LOL, bars, not pads. Nice coverage on those pads tho.Looks like Puig not really the same. View attachment 52356

There are a lot of differences. Number of mounting points, area of coverage, how self sacrificing they are. Ability to add upper bars. Skid plates they will fit with, etc.Is there a difference in protection between all the different brands of crash bars offered, or is it more about trying to find the best price?
Cool. Thank you for the information. There are a lot of differences. Number of mounting points, area of coverage, how self sacrificing they are. Ability to add upper bars. Skid plates they will fit with, etc.
Some bars are expensive and offer minimal protection, (Touratech). Some bars are relatively inexpensive and offer basic protection, but are pretty much one time use if they take a moderate hit, (Givi). Other bars offer Stainless steel, (AltRider and T-Rex Racing, IIRC), various levels of coverage, etc. Some companies offer great bars, but meh skid plates. Some great skid plates won't play well with all crash bars.
Buy what you like the looks of, what covers the areas you feel need to be covered and fits your budget.
Definitely. Going to have to do quite a bit of research, getting into a whole different style of bike and I didn't realize just how deep this world went.Do some searches here on the forum and you'll find a lot of pros and cons to the different bars. For example, Givis are good for mostly street but tend to get bent in regular off-road outings.
