I've been running a Shinko E705 on the front and a Mitas E07 on the rear. I like the combination.

I had Shinkos on front and rear and burned through the rear pretty quickly, so I put the Mitas on.

But this is a 90/10 tire thread. The Mitas 07 is more of a 70/30 or 80/20 & can be noisy
Mitas does have a 90/10 tire though

Im about to install a set of Anakee IIIs
I had a used 3-4K rear I put on last Spring which got anuther 4K put on before tryin a T30 Stone on a Summer trip. That tire only lasted about 4K. Current tires are Full Bore M40/41...rear done by 4K (Texas has that crappy chip seal on many roads which is like 80grit sandpaper) Anakees have been the longest lasting by far

Appreciate the feedback so far. Looks like it's going to be the Bridgestone A41. No specific reason except they seem good, and they're cheap.

Bridgestone is offering a $30/tire MIR which puts them a couple bucks cheaper than the OEM Battlewings

just put a set of Shinko 705s on mine. Price was awesome ($162 shipped) and so far i like them. Hopefully get good mileaage out of them got approx 7250 miles out of the battlewings. could maybe have stretched them to 8,000 but had the time and had them changed.

I went through three sets of 705's on my V-Strom. I liked them but they wore too quickly at highway speeds. Also the front tire cupped really badly.

I've been running the Continental Trail Attack 2 tires for a while, I've been really happy with them. I'm not 100% sure on my milage on them, but they are around 7k.

Mounted up these Michelin’s for our recently completed all pavement USA 4 corners ride.

They certainly make the Tenere into a much quieter road holding ride than the Mitas E-O7s I normally run. They did the ride and I removed the rear Road 5 at 18,500km with a bit left, but it was pretty well done so I’m giving the Mitas Terra Force R 90-10 rear a try for our upcoming 3 flags ride in Sept.

It seems to be a fairly new tire from Mitas with not much feedback on it yet. Ive still got the Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trail on the front with what looks to be enough tread left for the upcoming ride. So far The Terra Force is doing fine with a very slight hum at speed but to soon to know how it’s wet weather or wear will be like.
I did notice it’s a very stiff carcass when it came to mounting. Much more along the lines of an E-07 compared to the much softer Michelin Road 5 rear I took off.
Got an update on the E-07’s ?

I have a set of Michelin Wilds ready to spoon on. I don't feel comfortable at all going in the dirt with anything less. My goal is to have tires that will last about 4000 miles between oil changes. I already had a rag doll incident with 90/10 tires when I got caught in the sand. Running smooth tires in the sand is a no no.

For now I'm sticking to the pavement with the stock tires.

For those of you willing to wait a few months Bridgestone is coming out with some fantastic "big block" style tires:

I have 4 in mind so far depending on the deal and availability. No rush, probably be the first of the year before I need them so my list may change. Doesn’t hurt to shop.

Pirelli Scorpion Trail ll
Conti Trail Attack ll
Mich PR4 Trails
Mich Anakee 3

Finished off the A41's with a trip to Deals Gap and back last week, ended up being 3700km's (2300 miles) . Was super sketched running the tires for the trip as they were just barely above the wear bars both front and rear (~2-2.5mm tread) and I wasn't sure if they would make it. Scrambled to find a set of tires from any local shop last minute and didn't have much luck, so decided to wing it.

Made it back with a hair of tread line left on the rear tire and maybe 1mm on the front tire. The cool temperatures and me riding no faster than 70mph to preserve the tires helped I'm sure.

Final tally is 17000km's on them (10500 miles). Good road tires, can't really say much about off road. First set of tires I think I have ever owned that almost evenly wore out front and rear. Really surprising considering a majority of that mileage is with the Tenere fully loaded with lots of luggage. Only negative is the front tire is very badly cupped at this point. Turning at very slow speed at slight lean feels like riding over a rumble strip.

Probably going to get another set as they're still the cheapest modern 90/10 tire out there and I was happy with them.

I’m approaching 6K miles with these A41s and have been very happy. Even wear, good wet road traction and fair price (with rebate) make them a strong consideration when needing replacement.

Bought the bike 2 months ago with almost brand new metzeler tourance next (just 300 miles on them) and loving how good they are on the street/highway and felt confident on gravel roads. So far shows no sign of wear from the time I purchase the bike and had ridden them for over 2000 miles, mostly street/highway.
