. . . . Stevens single-shot break-open 20-gauge.
It weighs absolutely nothing, and I can easily pick it up with just my pinky finger!
I am usually good for about 4 or 5 rounds with this one, and then I have to put it away with a bruised shoulder............
Speaking of Stevens. . . . My neighbor came over last Monday, and told me he had a problem with a shotgun. He said that a friend had just recently given it to him, and he thought it was rusted solid. He said he couldn't get the action to cycle, and "thought" there was a round in the chamber. o_O First thing I noticed was how light it was. Easily half the weight of the Remington. Second thing I noticed was that it was not rusted solid. It had a "button", similar to the Remington, and when I depressed it. . . . it allowed the action to cycle. . . . and spit out a live round. So, I cycled it again, and ejected the second (and last) round. He went on to say that he has never had a shotgun.

So, I showed him how to load/unload, verify empty, and manipulate the safety. I also explained that as light as the shotgun was, it would likely kick like a mule. (hoping that would inspire him to put it in a closet and leave it alone) The Remington is fairly heavy, especially with 7 rds in it, and has a very manageable recoil.

Remington Wingmaster 870. 16ga and the newer one is a 12ga. 16ga shells are getting expensive and hard to find. The sweet 16 put a lot of food on the table growing up. The new one is a good shooter, but not near the quality of the old.FF7C224C-419D-47A6-B31A-D177761F4D70.jpeg

My Remington wing master is one of the last ones I’ll ever part with. It’s also not worth very much. The memories it brings back though, like hunting ducks with my Dad, pheasants with Abby my black lab, learning to appreciate the game you hunt, and eating what you kill. Those things I cherish.

A couple more from my collection.
I don't have very good pictures of these.

First one is a Star Firestar-45 in nickel-plated (Starvel) finish. 45-ACP.
I need to put a new recoil spring in it, so I haven't had it out in awhile.

This one is a newer model Ruger Blackhawk in .357-Magnum.
It's "Cowboy" action, super accurate, and fun as hell to shoot!
It also has the combo-cylinder to shoot 9mm for cheap fun......

Cool to see another Star out there. The first pistol I got for my wife is a Star Firestar Plus 9mm. It's a pretty nice handgun, didn't pay much for it.

I'm not sure your summation is correct. I think it is the nature of humans to comment online if they have a view on just about anything. Your own comments are evidence of that. You are commenting on other people's comments and not about guns on a gun only thread. I'm doing the same. Facebook is one big comment session. We should all just "scroll on" but the temptation of getting a response is irresistible.

Your post verifies that you have to make a comment. My summation is correct for me. If you don't like something then don't read the thread.

These are my two favorites in my long-gun collection.
A couple of lever-action firearms.

This is a newer (mid-80's) Winchester Model-94AE chambered in 30-30
It had a cheap scope on it when I got it, but I have since put a Williams peep-sight on it.

And this one is my prized-possession, as it was my Dad's deer-gun.

Winchester Model-88 chambered in .308
It's an early series (pre-1964) with the cut-checkering. (later ones had pressed-checkering and softer wood)
It has the vintage Redfield scope that my Dad had on it.

My Wife has said that of all the handguns she has tried, she likes the Firestar the best.
I think it's because it is heavy, and absorbs a lot of the recoil. It's more manageable.

I had the Model 88 and the Model 100 (semi-auto) in .308. Loved those guns. In the 1980's I even bought the Winchester 490 (?) which was a semi-auto 22LR clone of the Model 100. And I sold all thee of those to help fund a motorcycle purchase when I was 19. Still kinda kick myself for that, as I do with most guns that I've sold off..

Inside one of my home built suppressors. This is for my 300 blackout guns, sharing with my AK for a bit till my latest F1 is approved.
I've been researching getting a suppressor for some of the handguns. What I've learned is I should have been thinking about that 20+ years ago before I bought the guns. Seems threaded barrels are not really available aftermarket unless you bought very specific brands or models. I'd really like to get a couple of suppressors, but gets awful expensive when you're also replacing the guns as well.

A competent gunsmith can usually thread the existing barrel for a reasonable price.....
