Or you could go with a custom 1911 intended for IDPA matches. . . .
A.K.A: race guns. I'd like to try one out, but I would never buy one. I choose my guns like I choose my bikes: have to be solid, dependable, and not cost and arm and a leg.

I had a chief whose wife would by him Wilsons and Les Baers just for shits & grins. Whenever he tried to complain about his wife, we told him to STFU.

+1. I didn't know they got back in the pistol business either. Not real surprising considering that everybody and their dog makes conceal carries nowadays. Apparently, the last time they made pistols was 1919. This one came out in 2019. Might be kinda hard to find an inside the waistband holster.
I might know where you can find an IWB for it.

What's it chambered for? 12 gauge? Wow. That's different.

Interesting...I didn't realize I'd owed my 336 long enough that it has gone out of production and come back again. Have to admit I also didn't know Ruger owns Marlin. I guess that qualifies as being out of touch.
Yeah, for whatever reason, Marlin was bought by Remington. Remington filed for bankruptcy and was bought by Ruger. Ruger is now ramping up production of Marlin's lever actions. They chose to start with the "1874 Trapper" chambered in .45-70. Nothing against the round, but it not a common/popular round. But now, they're starting to deliver the "336", chambered in .30-30 & .35 Remington.

Right now, the Marlin "Marlin 336" is worth anywhere from $1,000 - $1,500. I don't know if the Ruger "Marlin 336s" are going to reduce or increase the value of the originals. They haven't even posted what the new ones are going to cost.

Humm...I don't recall, but I'm pretty sure I didn't pay anywhere near that.

Funny, after confirming I had the 336, DM was curious. I told her about your post. She immediately said, "maybe you should sell it." I just chuckled. But maybe...

I'll have to look to see if I have a RC or SC or what...no idea. I'm pretty sure I haven't put 100 rounds through that gun. Bought it, took it to the range twice, stored it away and kinda forgot I had it.

RC = Regular Carbine. SC = Sporting carbine. Doesn't matter, don't sell it. But my birthday is coming up . . . .

I had one back in the '80s. I think it was couple of hundred. In 2008, when everybody thought that guns were going to get outlawed, they went up to about $500. Take a look at the link below and see what they're going for now.

Jumpin jeebus! And this is why I have invested in guns instead of the stock market......

Turns out mine is a 336W, whatever that means.

After some Googling, it seems that the "W" designates the 20" micro-grooved barrel and a Birch stock. That info came from this site: Marlin 336W 30-30 Win Lever Action Rifle For Sale | Marlin Arms Stock (stockmarlinarms.com)

I don't know if that's a legit site since it only shows "Marlin" and not Ruger. It also shows the 336W going for $459 and the 336C (Maple stock) for $649.

Story of my life. Somehow I never own the stuff that is declared "valuable." Makes it easy to keep it for the reason I bought it in the first place. Probably better that way.
