I always used to watch GP racing, from the 70's when my dad's Yamaha dealership had VHS-tapes of GP-races sent from the importer and on TV when we finally got to see more than one channel in Norway and cable and satellite made its appearance. Wayne Rainey was always my favorite between the greats, like Lawson, Gardner, Doohan not to mention Kevin Schwantz and of course the legends Agostini and Rogers. But I stopped cold when Rainey crashed, never watched a single race again after that. And now this -- if ever there was a "greatest moment" related to GP racing, this has to be it. You can see it in his eyes. And it brings tears to mine.

That is a great little video. I have always followed racing when it was possible. I remember following wayne and kevin. I am a big fan of the 2 stoke gp bikes.

Being a full blown Suzook guy back then I naturally gravitated toward Kevin especially in the “Superbike” wars when he rode the Yoshimura Suzooks before he went GP. While Kevin was not the most technical rider he certainly was one of the balliest, hardcore fellows.
For shits & giggles (and context) here is a pic of me from '90 with my much beloved '86 GSX-R750.
That scoot was a white knuckling beast!
