Some additional questions. Did you decide to go with the 6061? I think it would be preferable for the intended use and looks. And what thickness, something like 3mm?
Have a good weekend!

Hi @StefanOnHisS10
6061 is not so great for forming work, its likely to crack during that process. If it does not, it will as soon as someone breathes on it wrong or it takes the slightest of impacts. Although its pretty fancy to say that something is made form "Aircraft grade 6061 T6 Aluminum", it has its limits, like bending/forming and also welding<--- What is this you say? Well, welding T6 heat treated Aluminum actually dilutes the heat treatment (from within the heat affected zone) unless it gets re-heat treated after any welding process. 6061 is best suited to machined billet work or welding/fabrication where scratch/abrasion resistance is needed but the mechanical properties of the T6 treatment is not needed as much in the areas that have been welded. Some have said that 6061T6 a "Jack Of All" type of item.

I have gone with 0.125" (3.175mm) 5052 because its actually the hardest of the non-heat treated Aluminums. It also has good work hardening characteristics that can make a bend (being cold worked) stronger/harder in that area. There are trade offs with that and malleability is one of them, provided that you don't try to re-form something it should be just fine. (Most Aluminum boats are made with 5052 because it can be formed, welded or otherwise persuaded to do almost anything and also its got great corrosion resistance)

I just saw that the thread was posted in the wrong section. No problem at all, I moved it and left a 2 day redirect in the other section.

Thank you for your explanation @Ladlesport.
And more importantly for keeping developing products for our beloved 2-wheeler.

So, I took a close look at my bike after looking at the pics provided by @Ladlesport. Attached is pic of coverage provided by my new T-Rex Racing engine guards. I think I don't need the proposed guard, which is a drag, because I love custom-designed, "We can do better" craftsmanship.

Okay guys sorry for the delay, pricing for this is noted as follows.
$92 CAD plus shipping from Canada. best guess on this is about 15-20USD (5-18 days) to the US Tracked parcel and 12-15 Euros to most destinations in Europe but that is without tracking.

Aluminum guard and the aluminum spacers will be Anodized Black.
Package will include all new stainless hardware (bolts and coupling nut) and a new copper crush washer.
Installation instructions with tool list and link to a video as soon as I have one to mount on my bike.
As always, free LadlesportADV stickers with every order.

I will post up again when they launch on my website. I will order everything from my vendors tomorrow and It should be about 2 weeks to get this rolling.

Cheers,

Matt,
